“Great spot to stay in Victoria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We stayed at the Laurel Point for 2 nights in the Erikson wing, facing the Empress. Our room was amazing, wonderful deep soaker tub, great view, linen/mattress/robes super comfy:)
Best eggs Benny here... Dinner was excellent, meringue dessert was fabulous with passion fruit purée:)

Hotel charged us an additional $200 fee because our dog barked and disturbed other guests between 9:30pm and 11pm. Hotel didn't contact us until 10:50pm to advise of the disturbance and we returned to the hotel within 11 minutes. They claim they called us several times but my cell phone didn't display any calls and no voicemail was left. They referred to the waiver we signed and said they had the right to charge us. The $200 was over and above the daily pet deposit. I appreciate guests do not appreciate noise disturbances but I do not believe the hotel handled it very well. And the room they gave us sis not have easy acces to a pet friendly grass area but rather just a concrete path near the pond. We will not stay here again.

This is a great hotel and you can watch the sea planes taking off and landing as often as you want. It has an exceptional Japanese Garden and is delightfully situated on the point. You can see the Fairmont and take a walk into Victoria for a visit. The rooms are well appointed and have huge bathrooms. The view is so nice you can sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. The restaurant is also worth a visit and the food lovely. This hotel is a great place to stay and highly recommended. The staff will cater to your every wish and always with a friendly smile.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the Erikson wing.

We visited the Inn at Laurel Point for a weekend in July to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
The room was large and well appointed with an expansive view of the japanese gardens and the harbour entrance. Watching the daily parade of float-planes, ferries, yachts and water taxis added to the fun.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the downtown attractions but away from all the hustle and bustle.
The Aura restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is spectacular and the food is consistently good. The Bennys (Eggs & Crab Benedicts) are the best we have had - anywhere!

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the Japanese Gardens.

After reading several reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to make reservations here. We were not disappointed! The staff is courteous and helpful and the location is outstanding! It is close to walk to town and connect with other tourist connections. We stayed in the Erickson Wing and our room was huge and very, very comfortable with a small patio that looks out over the harbor. There is a small Japanese Garden near the room which is very enjoyable. The hotel restaurant, Aura, is not as good as I had hoped but the view of the harbor while dining, is beautiful. I highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Erickson Wing is lovely.

From the time we arrived for our 3 night stopover in Victoria it was perfect. The room was large and well appointed - the king size bed was wonderful after long days seeing the sites of Victoria. The balcony, whilst small, was perfect for the two of us to view the outer harbour. Of special note was the service, staff were always willing to go that extra to make our stay memorable and hassle free. Praise goes to the Resturant where the food was excellent. We would particularly like to thank the Maitre de Robin Borne and his staff, their service was warm and helpful, the effect being more like going to a friends house for a sumptuous dinner than to a city resturant. Simply exceptional.

A light room with a large window overlooking the inner harbour, tastefully decorated with good quality furniture. We were on a corner and only had a small balcony but enough to capture the beautiful sunset.

Parking underground was $17 per night.

Attractive dining areas for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pool and fitness centre, laundry and ice making.

Convenient walking distance to the Museum and walk along the Waterfront walk to Fisherman's Wharf to book a whale trip. The hotel would have done it at no extra cost though, but we needed the walk after a long car ride.

We got a water taxi for $5 to Songee for a meal at Spinnakers (not impressed with that). The taxi works really well and runs every 5 minutes I think.
