“Nice Property, but a few Drawbacks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

My wife and I were excited to return to this hotel for our 16th wedding anniversary, as this was the inn where we had honeymooned 16 years earlier. The grounds are beautiful and the Erickson wing has spacious and contemporary-styled suites. However, there are a few drawbacks to staying at this hotel. Firstly, the rooms with the best views are on the highest floors, but the wing is built like a pyramid, with fewer rooms on each level as you go up. So if the hotel is fully occupied, odds are you will receive a room on one of the lower floors, which have less than inspiring views. Secondly, the hotel is a bit of a walk from all the attractions of the inner harbor. It is, however, very close to the Victoria Clipper ferry dock, if you arrive from Seatlle on that ferry. The staff was very polite, although not always helpful in answering questions about the area. Beware of staying next to the multi-room end suites on weekends, as large groups book those suites as party rooms, and you will be kept awake by noise until the wee hours.

Room Tip: Request a high-floor room facing the outer harbor in the Erickson Wing.

We were at the Laurel Point for my in-law's 60th Anniversary. We had them booked into a suite in the Erickson wing. Huge room, great balcony. There was an amazing view of the harbour - all 6 of us sat and watched the ferries and float planes come and go. The room was very clean. Every staff member we had any interaction with was fantastic. They sure know how to train their staff in exceptional customer service. When we checked in there was a card with a free dessert for my in-laws for their 60th - a very nice surprise. They delivered it to their room with 6 forks!! Then on Monday (our last day) at breakfast when the server found out it was their anniversary he came by with a special dessert and candle - compliments of the hotel he said! That was an total surprise. The other 2 rooms we had were not in the Erickson wing but were just as clean and comfortable. Would definitely return. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law have been there numerous times and rave each time.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this location. We stayed in the Erickson wing, The room was large; bright; and impeccably clean. We had an outstanding view of the harbor. The city is a short five minute walk from the hotel. All of our encounters with the hotel staff were pleasant. they were helpful in providing suggestions to us with respect to dining options and places to see and visit.
Parking is secure and you have the option of using valet parking or parking your vehicle yourself.
We would highly recommend this Inn to anyone.

Room Tip: Go for a room upgrade and stay in the Erickson wing.

Great location in Victoria. Close to Inner Harbor. Great walking/running paths. We were there for a family wedding and all aspects were superb...service, food, cleanliness. Definitely stay there again.

Serenity and relaxation is what they deliver. I stayed in the Erikson wing of this delightful hotel and it was worth the upgrade, The rooms overlook the Harbour and the hotels private Japanese Garden. The rooms are spacious and all spa treatments can be had in your massive bathroom specifically designed for the Spa effect. Loved it. Loved Victoria and the friendliness of staff and all the locals. The hotel restaurant caters to healthy minded diners.

Room Tip: The rooms on the main floor allow you to be part of the garden. Definitely the best rooms in the Eri...

This hotel was great. We only stayed one night because we were on a tour group, but if I ever go back to Victoria I'll go back to this hotel. It's the closest hotel from the Victoria Clipper ferry (out of Seattle) and walking distance to the Empress Hotel and most of the quaint, tourist area of Victoria.

The front desk staff was great - quickly moving our room when they learned they had to replace the air conditioning unit, and helping us book just the right whale watching trip.

I highly recommend this hotel.

We booked two nights in the Laurel Wing, and after reading the reviews here and talking to friends, we upgraded to the Erikson Wing.

I have to say, not only were the staff professional, courteous and helpful, our room was beautiful :) Clean, modern and the patio overlooking the garden was roomy and it was a delight to have our morning coffee outside.

When we got to the hotel to check in, we had a newer girl getting used to the system and even for a new person, she was very courteous and professional. We were happy from the get go and while we were upgrading we were offered to see the rooms before we committed to it. I thought that was an excellent touch.

The art in the hotel was beautiful, our room was beautiful, the soaker tub was just awesome and I felt truly relaxed. We would definately go back and recommend this hotel to anyone, especially when you can have room in the Erikson Wing :)

Room Tip: Erikson Wing for sure :)
