“Lovely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Just returned from four relaing nights at this hotel. Lovely location within 5 to 10 minutes walk along the water front to all the action in Victoria. Nice room, very clean, with great view over the water and nice a bathroom. We didn't use the hotel restaurant ourselves but saw some of the dishes going out to the tables and they looked delicious. We were there during the Buskers Festival so Victoria was buzzing with laughter and activity.

My husband and I stayed at Laurel Point as part of our tour of Canada on our honeymoon.

We stayed in Room 360 in the Erikson Wing 21\7\2012 -\23\7\2012

It was very easy to get to the hotel and it was a bonus that it had a car park but you did have to pay.

The staff at Laurel Point were really friendly.

Our room was in the Erikson Wing which was lovely and huge. The room was lovely. To get to your room you have to walk through a conference area which was off putting - in the day time there was conference of women and who had been to university. This wasn't to bad but one night there was a prom and you had to go through people having their photo taken and later eating their dinner. It was also off putting having to pay to use the interent - in many places we had been to it had been free.

We ate in the hotel resturant on our last night in Victoria as it was pouring down. I wouldnt recommend it - the food was okay but not worth the money.

The hotel is about a 10min walk to the Empress Hotel and the centre of Victoria which isnt to bad unless you are tired from a day walking around Victoria and\or it is in the pouring rain.

I would recommend staying at Laurel Point as the room and the staff were lovely but maybe I would look first in staying somewhere nearer the centre of Victoria

Room Tip: Book a room in the Erikson Wing

Dear fevdou,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your glowing comments about your recent stay at our hotel.
Yes, our Erickson Wing rooms are stellar - very sophisticated and understated decor and the views of either the city side of the harbour or the Sooke Hills side of the harbour are simply....magnificent......being that we are a 7-10 minute walk from our litle downtown core.
Indeed, there are hotels closer to downtown, in fact, right downtown, but with that comes the traffic noise and more than likely little to no views of the water.
And, we do offer complimentary Wi-Fi thoughout our building, but yes, there is a nominal charge to use our business centre's computer, as is the norm in most hotels.

I do hope you will reconsider staying with us as we are such a lovely tranquil oasis from the hustle and bustle of our dowtown core.....and we do offer complimentary, big umbrellas for those rainy days!

Sincerely,

~Judy

Awesome location. You will be a 5 minute walk from the center of Victoria. The hotel is in a great spot to watch all the activity in the harbor like the seaplanes, watching watching boats and ferry. We were in the older wing of the hotel. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The balcony was postcard sized and unusable. We got a great rate on the room and didn't explore the upgrade to be on the other side of the hotel.

Room Tip: Great views from all rooms.

Laurel Point was perfect for our family. The view from our room in the Erickson Wing was an amazing Inner Harbour view. Our room was very spacious with the nicest bathroom in any hotel. Very relaxing and very close to everything. We walked off the Coho and right to the hotel, about 5 minutes.

We spent our 1st Anniversary at Laurel Point, and returned for our 30th. The hotel, as with our marriage has improved with age! Our room was in the Erickson Wing and was a jaw dropper from when we first entered the room! Its view was of the outer harbor. Out front were seaplanes, whale watcher excursion boats, and many other types of watercraft! A flurry of activity, yet distant enough from our 5th floor room to not be a sound irritation. There is a convient walkway for walking to all the sites and activity that goes on in the inner harbor. The rooms deck was nicely sized, the king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic! The hotel staff could not have been better! There is secure parking available for a reasonable fee. We had breakfast at "Avia", the hotels highly rated restaurant. It lived up to its TA ratings. Go and enjoy!

Room Tip: In the summer, I would request a outer harbor view room, for the afternoon sun and being able to wat...

Mind you, we stayed in the Ericson Wing which is worth the extra dollars for the upgrade. Great beds, large balconies, spacious bathrooms a great soaker tub that fills quickly. The last time we stayed here my son had an ear to ear grin on his face the whole time. He didn't want to leave the room and balcony. All the bath products are fabulous, the staff friendly without being too attentive or bothersome. All in all a great stay.

Room Tip: Any room in the Ericson Wing is a winner

We stayed in the newer wing on the third floow with a fantastic view of the harbor. We upgraded the room to two queens and it was well worth it. Spacious and comfy.
A wonderful inn and great customer service.

Room Tip: Newer wing in upper floor
