“Good location and comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

Good location for us to travel around Victoria. Plenty of parking space both outdoor and underground. Good breakfast to start a day of activities. Clean and spacious room with balcony of good value. We had a comfortable and cosy stay with friendly and helpful hotel staff.

We stayed here for a week at he end of june. The incredibly kind people at checkin (we arrived at close to midnight with 3 kids and the dog, having missed our ferry and left the binki at out last stop) made checking in a welcoming experience finding us a pet room with full kitchen and tiny balcony. It had everthin we needed: wirless, fridge, stove, pool, breakfast and parking. Michelle in the dinning room was particularily lovely and kind! Thank you!

We stayed at the Embassy Inn for a family visit in June 2014. The location suited us ideally. We booked ahead for June in March 2014. July & August seem to be the most expensive months for hotel stays. There seems to be a lot of confusion about whether or not breakfast is included. How about just offering some kind of deal for those who stay 5 nights or more?
We were very dis-appointed that the Embassy Inn could not come up with at least a Continental Breakfast offer for guests.(Especially because Canadians are charged so much for air fare when they are travelling within their own country!)
There were a few 'house-keeping' issues:Please improve the lighting in the room for those of us who are readers, the side lamps by the bed are inadequate. There is a nice arm-chair in the room but no lamp. The faucets in the bathroom of our suite (404) were reversed. The coffee-maker was nice but it's not a 4 cup. The wall safe in the cupboard blocks the coat rack. Is it possible to make the mattresses a little less soft? The toilet and the mini-fridge were sometimes a little noisy. Toiletries are made in China--I don't think that many eco-conscious people would use them. Was surprised that we had to take our own bags to and from our room. As seniors with some physical dis-abilities--I was a little dis-mayed at this.

All in all The Embassy Inn was an average hotel, adequate for our needs. We hope to return next year.

Thanks for the review of your recent stay with us. We do offer rates that both include a breakfast and rates that do not. Some packages include a breakfast as well. Regarding your comment about not having assistance with luggage, please know that we do have staff at the hotel that can and will assist all guests with their luggage. I would be happy to get away from my desk to assist at a moments notice. As well, all of our beds were recently replaced in the tower building. I hope to see you again at our lovely hotel.

We booked a suite and were very happy with the room and our stay. The suite was very roomy and comfortable--kitchenette, dining area, sitting area, two closets, bedroom and bathroom, two TVs. There were downsides: The bathroom was rather small with few places to set one's toiletries and few places to hang towels. The second closet in the bedroom, which had a useful safe in it, was hard to access because there were two queen-sized beds in the room--comfortable beds, but they crowded the room a bit. Our room had 3 (!) balconies, but there were no chairs on any of them (we used the dining chairs, which was OK but inconvenient, as we didn't want to leave them on the balcony). Kitchen appliances were old but clean (we used only the fridge, which worked fine). But the free computer in the lobby worked well, toiletries provided were fine, the shower had great water pressure, there were plenty of towels, and the staff were all very pleasant and extremely helpful. One of them (I think his name was Ron--bearded guy) gave us open-top bus tour tickets that another guest, who checked out, had not used and had left with him. (Thanks both to the guest and to Ron!) The breakfast included (or discounted) with the room was fine, too. Location is great, close to the Inner Harbor and many attractions. I would definitely book a room here again. Good value for the price.

Room Tip: We had room 413, a suite on the upper floor, which was very spacious, had a skylight, and offered a...

Easy access to everything touristy! Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a good breakfast too. The pool was fun for the family and we also loved being able to park our car and not move it for a few days (even for a day after we officially checked out - thanks!).

Perfect hotel, warm welcome from Ron on the desk, great room, ok it looked over the car park but who spends time in their room, a nice surprise bonus of breakfast included, I didn't know that when I booked, also we got there early expecting to wait for our room but was given the key straight away, they also looked after our luggage until we left late afternoon on the ferry, the only thing was we are vegetarians and the restaurant had nothing to offer so we had to eat in one of the many cafés and restaurants around town. I doubt we will here again but if I do I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel. Angela and Ian Mckenzie, Warwickshire, england

Thank you for the review of your recent stay with us. I will be sure to pass on your kind comments to Ron on the desk. He is a favourite with many of our guests. As for the vegetarian choices, I did check and there are a few items on all dining room menus available for vegetarians. I will be sue to ask my chef to consider a few more. we look forward to your possible return.

We booked this hotel through the Victoria Clipper which was our transportation from Seattle. As described, it was only a short walk from the dock. Part of the hotel is much older, but we stayed in a newer block. We were on the top floor where the addition of a skylight added to the spacious feeling of the room. A small kitchenette, working lobby computer, free reliable wi-fi and safe were all useful. Good quality bathroom products and towels were in place. Breakfast was included and was buffet style on one morning and a set amount to spend from the menu on the other.
It was an easy stroll to James Bay eateries and also to the usual Victoria tourist spots.
Staff were helpful and offered good ideas to help us find our way about.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor. Skylight was good.
