“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

We booked a suite and were very happy with the room and our stay. The suite was very roomy and comfortable--kitchenette, dining area, sitting area, two closets, bedroom and bathroom, two TVs. There were downsides: The bathroom was rather small with few places to set one's toiletries and few places to hang towels. The second closet in the bedroom, which had a useful safe in it, was hard to access because there were two queen-sized beds in the room--comfortable beds, but they crowded the room a bit. Our room had 3 (!) balconies, but there were no chairs on any of them (we used the dining chairs, which was OK but inconvenient, as we didn't want to leave them on the balcony). Kitchen appliances were old but clean (we used only the fridge, which worked fine). But the free computer in the lobby worked well, toiletries provided were fine, the shower had great water pressure, there were plenty of towels, and the staff were all very pleasant and extremely helpful. One of them (I think his name was Ron--bearded guy) gave us open-top bus tour tickets that another guest, who checked out, had not used and had left with him. (Thanks both to the guest and to Ron!) The breakfast included (or discounted) with the room was fine, too. Location is great, close to the Inner Harbor and many attractions. I would definitely book a room here again. Good value for the price.

Room Tip: We had room 413, a suite on the upper floor, which was very spacious, had a skylight, and offered a...

Thank you for your review of our hotel. Many of our rooms are very spacious. as for the access to the closet where the in room safe is, I will have my maintenance department create more room to access this closet. I will also pass on your kind comments about Ron. We look forward to serving you again on a future trip.

Easy access to everything touristy! Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a good breakfast too. The pool was fun for the family and we also loved being able to park our car and not move it for a few days (even for a day after we officially checked out - thanks!).

Perfect hotel, warm welcome from Ron on the desk, great room, ok it looked over the car park but who spends time in their room, a nice surprise bonus of breakfast included, I didn't know that when I booked, also we got there early expecting to wait for our room but was given the key straight away, they also looked after our luggage until we left late afternoon on the ferry, the only thing was we are vegetarians and the restaurant had nothing to offer so we had to eat in one of the many cafés and restaurants around town. I doubt we will here again but if I do I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel. Angela and Ian Mckenzie, Warwickshire, england

Thank you for the review of your recent stay with us. I will be sure to pass on your kind comments to Ron on the desk. He is a favourite with many of our guests. As for the vegetarian choices, I did check and there are a few items on all dining room menus available for vegetarians. I will be sue to ask my chef to consider a few more. we look forward to your possible return.

We booked this hotel through the Victoria Clipper which was our transportation from Seattle. As described, it was only a short walk from the dock. Part of the hotel is much older, but we stayed in a newer block. We were on the top floor where the addition of a skylight added to the spacious feeling of the room. A small kitchenette, working lobby computer, free reliable wi-fi and safe were all useful. Good quality bathroom products and towels were in place. Breakfast was included and was buffet style on one morning and a set amount to spend from the menu on the other.
It was an easy stroll to James Bay eateries and also to the usual Victoria tourist spots.
Staff were helpful and offered good ideas to help us find our way about.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor. Skylight was good.

I stayed here in the 1980s in the old wing and recently in the Tower. Internet isn't good in the old part, but it's good value (less monney than the Tower).

Breakfast was included last week when I stayed as I booked directly with the hotel.

Good hot basic breakfast. Thanks!

it's a great place to stay. Thanks!

Room Tip: higher up you might get a view (tower building) and in the old part usually a view but not good inte...

Thank you for your comments concerning your recent stay with us. We are happy to have you back with us. As for the internet in the older building, I am not sure what date you stayed with us but we recently increased our bandwidth with our local wifi supplier. Hopefully, on your next trip, you will see an improvement. We look forward to serving you again in the future.

Great location and value for the harbour, downtown, parliament area. Also only a 1 minute drive to the ferry to Port Angeles. Rooms are nice, parking is free, and comp breakfast is OK. We stayed at a more expensive property nearby recently but the Embassy met all our needs and expectations at half the price.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently. The location is perfect for walking to downtown and fisherman's wharf. We had a top floor room in the tower which was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included in the rate was very good.
Good value for money and the facilities were what you would expect in a 3 star hotel.
