“Great service - hotel will benefit from its referb...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for three nights in septmber just before the hotel was due to shut down for a referb. The rooms were good - the bed was huge - but had no fridge or aircon and looked ready for its referb. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and really helped us make the most of our stay.

Stayed here at the end of September, had a enjoyable stay .
Our room had a small kitchenette which was great as we were there for a week, and eating out in Victoria is an expensive pass time.
The room had a great view down the Main Street to the harbour and we could see the " float planes" coming and going.
The reception staff were helpful and on the whole friendly, willing to help or give advice if they could.
This Hotel doesn't have air conditioning we asked for a fan and almost at once one was delivered. The weather was nice for September and we had windows open, the hotel is on an intersection and could be noisy at night.
The bar under the hotel was brilliant, good atmosphere and we ate in the bar/restaurant on more than one occasion liking the whole feel of the place. Very reasonable prices, basic menu to choose from but very acceptable.
Had breakfast in the hotel, buffet style. We have had better, cold plates, hot food not particularly hot and not a great deal of choice, although if asked they would fry an egg, cold scrambled egg looses its appeal after a couple of days.
On the whole we very much enjoyed our stay in Victoria and at the hotel.

We originally booked this hotel as it seem'd from the map that it was within walking distance from the Ferry terminal, where ferries arrive from Seattle. It is walk-able if you have light luggage. We took a 5 min cab ride. We booked a queen executive apartment which was fabulous. Not air conditioned, but the constant breeze through the large sliding doors was more than adequate and the time of year we were there ,late August, provided us with quite cool nights. What makes this hotel so special is their staff. The front of house staff are wonderful, more than happy to help with tour suggestions, restaurants, and driving instructions. This hotel is also very conveniently placed for exploring Victoria and its harbour on foot .

We stayed here for our two year wedding anniversary and the customer service was exceptional. We arrived very early yet they were still able to get us into our room. Our room had the most amazing view of the harbor and surrounding mountains. Would definitely stay again.

Central location, very clean rooms, the staff went out of their way to help with advice on the good torus around town. The pub downstairs provided good food and again good service. We had full cooking facilities which we didn't use this time but would recommend to those wanting to stay in Victoria for a few days and be able to do some of their own cooking coupled with taking advantage of all the restaurants close by.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

The Executive House Hotel of Victoria has a central location in downtown Victoria. That is the best thing about it. However it is not spacious by any stretch of imagination. That, however, is not the worst part. Maybe because the hotel management wanted to reduce the cost, the guest room's air conditioning unit is not functioning at the time I checked in, which was Sep 2013. When the weather is not cool enough, you will be stuck in a stuffy room. I called the front desk and asked them what could be done. The answer: just open the window and nothing else could be done about it. The problem is: my window of the room was already opened.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view if there is no additional charge.
