Stayed here awhile ago but this Best Western was really nice. We booked two rooms One suite and one regular room. Nice clean and very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and again! We are looking forward to staying here again. Very convenient location to everything.

Downtown Victoria in the summer is the place to be. This property is located on the water, perfectly between the harbour and fishermans wharf.
Check in was smooth with no wait. Staff was extremely helpful with directions, things to do, and dining recommendations. Check out was equally smooth, and the staff was happy to get us a cab quickly.
Rooms were clean and spacious. The balcony with sun was a big plus.
The complimentary breakfast was par for the course in comparison to the best western plus brand. Eating area was pleasant and modern. The food was good with ample choices.
I would definitely stay again, and would recommend to others.

I will come back to stay here again because the room is big and comfortable and there was a full kitchen and kitchen table tucked away in the corner. The bathroom is big. Everything is clean, including the remote controls. There is a nice, relaxing balcony with patio table and chairs. The best thing is the hot breakfast that is included. I liked the fresh scones and croissants. Parking is secure. The hotel is located in walking distance to everything downtown, yet it is in a quiet residential area. The only sounds you will hear are birds and the clip-clop of the horse-drawn carriages. The only slight drawback is the wifi can get busy at times and you will lose your internet connection sometimes. There was no air conditioning in my room, but in the middle of summer, while it was how outside, it was not hot in the room and was fine.

Dear Tricia,

Thanks so much for taking the time to share how much you enjoyed our hotel, specifically the comfort of the rooms themselves and all the amenities we include as well as the full breakfast included with every stay. We are working on a significant upgrade to our wifi system that will be in place in a couple months - thank you for your patience and comments about the free service.

We look forward to welcoming you and the family back again when next in Victoria!

Sincerely,
Joanne Mils

Hotel is a short walk from the ferry terminal and a short walk to the bus stops for Butchart Gardens and other destinations. Staff at Hotel were extremely friendly, room was comfortable and updated. Would choose this hotel again when in the area.

Victoria May 2014, BW Inner Harbour

We have stayed several times at the BW Inner Harbour and this visit once again met all expectations. We received a genuine, interested welcome. We were assigned the room we had requested on a higher floor with some views of the Strait.

The hotel has undergone a renovation so we enjoyed the new decor including the decorative touches such as stylish room number plates. No more key cards but cards that tap a sensor to open the door.

The first night we encountered sounds as though someone nearby was scraping furniture at maddeningly irregular intervals. It was something to do with one of the elevators and known by the hotel. It was turned off late every night, but we took advantage of the opportunity to move rooms.

The new room was a pleasure to be in, spotless and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable with very good bedding. Although I need a few more heads for all those pillows. Wifi signal was strong. Television reception was fine with an easy to use remote.

The bathroom was large with plenty of room for two to spread out and well provided with quality toiletries. The shower stream had good pressure.

One corner of the room is a kitchenette alcove with coffee maker, microwave and a half fridge. There IS cutlery! It's in the drawer in the side of the table. It would have been so nice to find that information somewhere in the kitchen. Maybe there was a notice that we missed, all the more reason to make sure it is easy to find. We found the self contained balcony a treat, a place to have a glass of wine, watch the foot traffic along the street and watch the lights come on all around the harbour. A pleasant way to plan the next day's activities.

Breakfast was included and the breakfast room gets crazy busy around 8 am. A number of people grabbed their food and took it back to their room as there were no available tables. The hot food consisted of eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon and hash browns. Also available was a bakery case with pastries, a bread case with bread and bagels, cold cereal, yogurt and fruit salad along with the usual fruit juices. Fresh whole fruit was also on offer.

Parking underground was $8 per night, entering and exiting was a bit odd as you had to drive in and out on the left side of the driveway, UK style, because of the placement of the keyed entry system for the gate. Parking spots were spacious making it easy to park.

We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again in a heartbeat. The staff were a huge plus, top notch.

Thank you for continuing to choose our hotel when visiting Victoria. We sincerely appreciate the loyalty to our hotel, and all the great feedback on your most recent stay.

The most recent renovations you mentioned were one of the larger ones we have undertaken in recent years - complete new look to the lobby and all the hallways. The new locks, also added last year, are indeed wonderful - no more magnetic stripes on the keys, now the touch/ proximity locks.

I love how you described the parking entry/ exit system - as the card reader has been placed on the left wall for the driver to easily reach, it does mean that in/ out is indeed "the UK" way to drive. But please return to the normal North American driving on the right side of the road once you leave the property. Just follow the signs, they will make sense when you read them now.

Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back "home" again.

As a Platinum member of Best Western, received a call the morning of our stay from front desk staff Shane asking if my two friends and I wanted to upgrade from two rooms with 3 beds to a top floor upgraded two bedroom penthouse suite with new pull-out queen sized sofa, kitchen, dining room and wrap around balcony. We jumped at the chance and were SO GLAD we did!!!
The place was quite large with a HUGE wraparound deck with stunning views of the inner harbour, to Washington state and beyond. There was just a small park, small road and ferry parking lot between us and the water, so we had a GORGEOUS view from 1 BR, our living room with real fireplace (and store-bought fake log to burn) and large patio table outside.Full-on view ended with Empress; Parliament was obscured by Days Inn nearby, but you could see a corner from other side of the huge deck. The other bedroom looked more to ocean toward cruise ship docks, also with nice view.
Marble floor, trendy lights, appealing bath fixtures, softer comfy beds and firmer pull-out sofa, entire wall of granite surrounding fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, comfy outdoor patio table all helped make for an unforgettable experience.
I let my friends wander Victoria on their own and stayed behind to enjoy the luxurious suite all to myself. Ahhh... They enjoyed the outdoor pool and indoor hot tub; I never made it that far...
Only "complaint" would be that I did hear our neighbours in the other penthouse on the floor when they arrived at 10:30 PM, but that quieted down soon. We were all woken up by the screeching of gulls overhead at 0530. Also in my room I could hear a slight thumping noise from time to time that seemed to have been something up on the roof. Parking is extra, less than $10/day. But the penthouse perks far outweighed these issues.
I hope to come back with friends to this penthouse again - a perfect way to enjoy BC's capital city!

Room Tip: Penthouse 802 where we stayed had the best view from the top floor.

We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed our Two Bedroom Penthouse on your recent visit to Victoria with friends.

We had completely renovated both penthouses this past winter, and we have uploaded the photos of the new look to the photo gallery for anyone interested. The suite is the largest we have - can sleep up to 6 - and has amazing 360 degree views which sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks again for your loyalty to Best Western, and for all the wonderful feedback on your upgraded stay!
