“Nice hotel, nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We stayed in this hotel, first because of the chain brand and second for it's location and free breakfast. The breakfast was just "ok" and the area a little crammed. If you are an early riser you will likely have a better experience. The great thing we discovered is they have weekly and monthly rates that are awesome during the winter months. We are thinking to plan a winter getaway next Christmas. We will stay there again.

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your recent visit to Victoria.

We appreciate the comments as the feedback really helps us see where we can continue to improve our hotel experience for future guests.

It is great that you took a brochure detailing our Winter Long Stay Program. These are excellent value Weekly and Monthly rates and Victoria is fortunate to boast the mildest winter climate in Canada. I certainly hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Victoria again soon.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Rachel Dickinson

Cozy, comfy, with caring, cheerful clerks is so important especially when it rains - cause rainy days always makes me blue and that is why we need staff like you.The *****star beds and the spacious rooms direct your mind to peaceful slumber "lets flame out". There is a tiny kitchen playing a big role. The shower head is huge - at first glance after downing a few beers I thought who would be crazy enough to install an umbrella where a shower head should be. But it did rain on my parade and sobered me up. The atmosphere is casual and homey - the breakfast, sausage, eggs, and pancakes get you going -but is it enough to get you back when it is snowing -you bet! Other beautiful hotels surround "VictoriasBest" with truly excellent and reasonably priced dining menu's.Now where did I put that umbrella! N. Shaw

Room Tip: Rooms on the Harbour side are Quieter

What a great hotel!

The room was clean, the location is central and the bed was comfy! We didn't have a harbour view, but we didn't need one. The street is quiet so there was no noise at night. I was surprised to find a kitchen in the room when we arrived, nice if you're staying longer but as we only stayed 1 night we didn't have much use for it. The hotel also has a gym and a pool. We didn't bring swim stuff to use them.

The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5/5 is because of the breakfast in the morning. We didn't go at peak time yet they'd run out of lots of things and nothing seemed to be re-stocked in the time we were there. Maybe they were short staffed on that day? I don't know. We just had what was there and then went on our way.

Another niggle was the hairdryer in the room. For some strange reason you have to press it on at the wall and keep it pressed whilst drying your hair. So unless you have someone to press it for you then it gets a bit awkward when trying to brush your hair whilst drying it.

With that said I would definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed our stay!

This accommodation is very well located to all the downtown attractions and inner harbour. We chose a suite with a partial harbour view and it was great. We have stayed at this location on three prior occasions. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very neat and clean the only thing I could suggest was an occasional vacumning every couple of days since we stayed seven nights. I was also pleased that all my requests were met upon checking in. This is definatley a hotel I would recommend to anyone staying in Victoria.

Room Tip: Partial harbour view away from the elevator. Worth the extra dollars.

The Best Western Plus hotel has an unbeatable location in the inner harbor area of Victoria. Just a block or two from the Parliament building, good dining and the shore front attractions. The rooms are over sized with kitchenette and refrigerator. The hotel is about a block and a half from the ferry terminal to Port Angeles, Washington and is about the closest hotel to the terminal. Consider leaving your car at the Port Angeles ferry parking garage and taking the much cheaper pedestrian fare to Victoria. For a three or four night stay you really won't need a car due to the location of the Best Western and even the downtown and Chinatown areas are a short and delightful walk. Also, the famous Butchart Gardens and be reached by city bus. If you do bring a car, self parking is available at the hotel for $8.00 a day.

We stayed here on two occasions on our stay on Vancouver island, first in a king room and then in the king suite with the spa for my husbands birthday. From the moment we arrived they were so helpful and courteous. Both rooms were excellent, clean and spacious and the beds were so comfy. The views from the penthouse were breath taking, a 360 degree of Victoria. The breakfast was well presented and had a large variety to choose from. It is located close to the harbour and all tourist attractions. If you come to stay in Victoria, you can't go past Best Western plus inner harbour.
