“Must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

The grounds around Government House are a must for anyone but especially gardeners, there is also a Tea Room run by very nice volunteers who serve the best tea ever accompanied by pastries made by the Chef from Government House. Just a lovely place to visit, and please visit the Tea Room

“Place you must visit in Victoria.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

I recommend visiting the Government house after having visited Craigdarroch Castle. Both buildings are in a great neighborhoods. The houses along the way are impressive with beautiful gardens and huge trees. The walk is part of the experience. Google maps give you all the directions.
Once you get to Government house, you will admire all the space and gardens. There are a lot of colorful flowers all around. A nice pond with ducks and ducklings, and fountains. The place is big and there is a lot to see of nature, at some point you see the sea with mountains in the background. There is a small museum at the back with a tea house and washrooms..
There is no entrance fee entrance to the building and it is only 25 minutes walking from downtown

“Tour of Parliament is worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

It only takes 30 minutes and it's free! My kids (age 13, 10, 8, & 6) loved it! Our tour guide (Esther) was knowledgeable and funny.

“Lovely gardens a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

The Government House and gardens are just across Rockland St. from Craigdarroch Castle. We noticed the gardens through the fence and decided to go in. Glad we did...water features and lovely flowers and paths to enjoy. We didn't go into the building.
