Theatre is located downtown Victoria, near Chinatown. Although our visit was a Friday night, we found street parking just a few blocks away. The staff were friendly & helpful and offered to show us to our seats. There were bars upstairs & downstairs, however I could not see a price list, so did not want to take a chance on a $15 beer! We did check the website before the show and saw that 'no outside food or drink' allowed. We therefore did not bring any bottled water that I normally carry to keep hydrated for medical reasons. However when we got to the theatre we saw a sign, that said 'only bottled water allowed in theatre' . McPherson, please change your website!.
The theatre is beautifully appointed, and the seats were just big enough. The upper balcony where we were is very steep. I thought we should have been roped together as we made the 'ascent'! We had a clear view of the stage though, but it was hot up there. There was a very large radiator located near 'base camp' so it was able to blast lots of heat up into the upper balcony. We, and we noticed others, gave the valve a few turns as we went past and eventually one of the audience went up and turned it all the way off.
We went to see John Cleese's first show and don't know whether the theatre or the act have responsibility for the final two items, but I would have liked John's mike a little louder and his video screen a little bigger, even though my hearing and sight are good.
