“Nice unit with view of the water.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

I was in a 2 bedroom unit for 5 days in Worldmark Victoria. The seagull came to visit several days and it was raining 3 of the 5 days I was there. Being Nov and low season, some of the places closed like Red Fish Blue Fish or others had reduced hours. Staff are helpful and nice.

Getting here from Vancouver is a bus or car. ride, a ferry then another bus or car/ cab ride. It is far simplier to take the passenger boat from Seattle for the seaplane but the luggage is very limited. Sometimes the seaplanes have sales for weekend flights.

The view and waterfront are best features of these units and you can swim in the heated pool or use the jacuzzi even with the cold weather. But honestly I think it is better to be there in season when the weather is nicer since it was a tad too wet and and half closed for my taste even though I tend to like things a bit off season to avoid the crowds.

My parents (pensioners), sister and I spent 5 nights at Worldmark Victoria. Our condo was overlooking the pool and boathouses /fishermanswharf (200 meter walk from condo). We enjoyed watching the seaplanes take take off and land. Sunny weather the entire time. The condo was nice and was more than adequate for 4 people. I used the "twin" bedroom at the back of the condo. I would have like to have a view or at least a window I could look out of. "The window" was made of glass bricks. The bed was great and I slept well. My sister had the Murphey bed in the living room and slept well. My parents enjoyed the master bedroom with a view down to the boathouses. Service was excellent, we had a minor problem with a toilet seat cracking, it didn't take more than 10 minutes after our call to reception that maintenance was at the door and fixed the problem in a freindly professional way.

We visited Fisgard lighthouse, worth visiting, well presented and informative. Take a picnic and enjoy the area and view from the top of the fort that overlooks the litghhouse.

Visited Butchart Gardens - Enjoyed the gardens that were at the beginning of the blooming season. A wheelchair was available which made my mothers day more relaxing and enjoyable. Wheelchair access to almost all parts of the gardens. :) Make sure you take a ride on the Carousell!!

I did not take out any Canadian dollars, businesses accepted USD.

Ate at:
"The 4 mile pub" food nothing fantastic but a nice atmosphere.
"Red fish Blue fish" on the wharf - waited one hour in line for some nice fish and chips. Coleslaw was too salty for my liking. (You have to pay cash!)

Top tip: Order a water taxi to pick you up at Fishermanswharf and take you to the docks in front of the empress. If you order a return trip at the same time you will save a dollar. So 9 dollars for a nice boat ride t/r, no hassle find a parking space, and a little harbour tour to boot! Nice! Make sure to get a belgian waffle on the dock. Yummy.

I would go back as there are many more places to explore. The condo is in a good location. Two minute drive from the Balck ball ferry terminal.

Since buying into Wordmark 11 years ago, we have stayed at this property on most of our visits to Victoria (32 total trips since 1981). The location is quite good -- a short walk or drive has you in the heart of downtown shopping and dining. Beacon Hill Park and Cook Street Village are also just a short distance away, and the Thrifty grocery store in the James Bay area has everything you need for an extended stay. There's also a little market just around the corner if you forgot something when doing your major grocery shopping.
Units are quite comfortable and well equipped. Resort staff are very friendly and helpful and can offer helpful tips re: activities and dining as well. Yes, the harbor does start buzzing with activity just a little before 8 a.m., but who wants to sleep late when there's so much to see and do in Victoria? We've been to Victoria far more times than any other vacation sites, but still find something new each time.
Our most recent trip, we had the fun of showing good friends all the sights -- they had been there only once before, about 20 years ago. They also are WM owners and agree that the location and range of things to do make this resort an instant favorite. Believe me, we'll be back many more times.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week on an RCI exchange. We took the ferry from the mainland at Tsawwassen as walk-on passengers, and then the #70 express bus to Victoria. The location is right in the city and on the waterfront. Everything is within walking distance so there is no need for a car, unless you wish to travel outside Victoria.

We had a 1 bedroom unit that had a lovely view of the marina and ocean. One day a sea gull even paid us a visit on our balcony. But feeding the birds is not allowed.

The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Internet is free in the business area. The kitchen was very well equiped and included small packets of seasonings for cooking, which was a nice surprise. The resort has an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, which is available for use even in wintertime. There is a small grocery just a block away, and Thifty's supermarket is 5 blocks away for shopping.

We visited the Royal BC Museum, attended St Andrews Roman Catholic Cathedral and took a few walks around the city and the waterfront. Enjoyed lunch at a few small and casual restaurants but cooked most of our other meals. There is a lot more sightseeing for first time visitors but we have visited Victoria a few times before and it is always enjoyable to return. The people in Victoria are also very friendly and helpful.

We had 2 days of sunshine, 2 days of rain and 2 days of cloudy weather. We thoroughly enjoyed the gas fireplace in our unit, on those cold and rainy days. Although it was cold at this time of the year (0-7 degrees Celsius), it was good just to get away for some quiet time.

Room Tip: We were located on the 5th floor which had a good view. There were floating planes taking off and la...

We stayed here for a few nights over the holiday season and had a great time. The condos were comfortable and the staff was friendly. There's a nice gym and pool/hot tub. The WorldMark is right on the water just west of town so there's a very nice waterfront stroll to get into town.

Room Tip: The views get dramatically better the higher up you can get.

We were lucky enough to have a penthouse with a fabulous view.........the sunsets are awesome!
The 2 bedroom, two bathroom was immaculate and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was a hottub on our wrap around deck where we sat and relaxed watching the boats and planes. Fisherman's Wharf is right next door, where you can eat or just enjoy some icecream or catch a water taxi to check out the Parliament Buildings, the Museum or all the Vendors along the waterfront. The kids loved the pool(big and small). We will definately go back again!!

We stayed at the Worldmark in Victoria for three days is mid-August. We were very happy with our stay! We arrived early and our room was not ready, but we left our luggage and had lunch at the Blue Crab next door. Our unit was ready by the time we finished lunch. Our two-bedroom unit (5th floor) was very spacious. It was hot (there is no air conditioning), and we found no fan in the unit. But we called the front desk and one was delivered immediately. The units all have very nice balconies. The location of the Worldmark is great -- an easy 10 minute walk along the waterfront to the Fairmont and the Legislative Building. Being on waterfront is picturesque, but also a little noisy -- so be prepared for noisy airplanes and boats. But, we really liked the location despite the noise. Victoria is very nice (although a little more touristy than I expected), but it's definitely worth a visit. We hiked in East Sooke Regional Park on day and it was fantastic. The Worldmark provided a great base for our stay.
