Absolutely fantastic, made to perfection, a unique place to visit on Vancouver Island. The whole place is divided into differently themed gardens, with my favourite Japanese one. It is just amazing how well it is maintained. As we visited it in late August we had an occasion to take part in one of the concerts which are held in the park. Absolutely excellent place to visit.

My husband & I went to Butchart Gardens on a visit to Victoria in the Summer of 2007 and were overwhelmed on how beautiful it was. The scent from the rose gardens was heavenly and the view of the quarry gardens are undescribable.
My mother & were were taking a short visit to Victoria this past weekend and I thought my mother would enjoy the gardens but wasn't sure how they would look because of the time of year. I was pleasantly surprised that they were just as beautiful as ever with the flowers and plants of the spring season. I might make it a plan to visit each and every season.

This was a highlight to our trip to Victoria and a must see for visitors. We went to the gardens early on a Friday morning and had the beautiful place to ourselves. In spring the tulips are spectacular, such a variety of colors. We spent about 2 hours walking around the gardens and could have stayed longer. The gift shop is nice, and has unique gifts to take back home. The sunkin garden is a highlight of the gardens, but really the whole place is a spectacular sea of color and tranquility.

The Butchart Gardens are really a must see for anyone visiting the Pacific Northwest. We had friends arrive on a cruise ship in September of last year and were looking for transportation to and from the Gardens - it was a rather large group. While a number of options exist, after some shopping around CVS Cruise Victoria was our tour of choice. We paid $2 more per person then the "shuttle bus" service running to the Gardens and had a driver who provided a wonderful history of the area, background on Butchart Gardens and was genuinely a treat to ride with. The bus was modern with air conditioning and comfortable seating. The tour was $47 canadian and included the Gardens admission price and taxes. We were able to stay over at the Gardens and have afternoon tea - Cruise Victoria has a frequent schedule and we did not have to return on the same coach we went out on, giving us lots of flexibility.

We might get to go again this coming year and would plan to take in the evening illuminations at Butchart's, I understand they are more spectacular then ever.
