“They outdid themselves!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

We stayed at the hotel for one amazing evening in a garden level suite. Our patio looked out onto the gardens, outdoor pools and oceanfront. The room was amazing -- everything from the bed to the tile and lighting was perfectly appointed. The extras, from the heated tiles to the small kitchen (complete with dishes and cutlery) helped create a luxurious feel. We spent quite a bit of time in the seaside pools, had a wonderful meal in The Snug and then an amazing breakfast in Kate's Cafe. The staff, from the valet to the front desk and the housekeeping and maintenance staff were polite, professional and welcoming.

Room Tip: The garden level suites provided easy access to the pools below the lobby level.

We decided to try out the new kid on the block! Having spent years visiting the old Snug, we were thrilled to spend the weekend at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. The reception staff were so accommodating and our room was spectacular...layout furnishings, attention to detail is exceptional! The view was gorgeous! While the beds are high, the comfort is wonderful...soft pillows, great duvets! While we loved our room and staff service, we found our experiences with the food outlets to be less impressive. Kate's forgot our lunch order...over 30 minute wait for a bowl of soup and tea...and whilst the complimentary chocolate cake was nice, promptness would have been better. Our evening meal in the dining room was good but our server was rushed...we never did get our condiments that were requested, nor were we offered an opportunity to have tea or coffee at the end of the meal. Five star prices but not five star service...hope it will come in time....we will be back

This was my third time to stay at the hotel. It was a wonderful relaxing weekend.
We stayed over the Easter long weekend. Even though the hotel was very busy we still had wonderful service, great food and an amazing time.
We stayed in a one bedroom suite this time and loved it. We felt very pampered with the room but especially the view.
My favourite experience for the whole weekend was watching the sun come up from the heated mineral pool. The sun comes up right in front of the hotel over the ocean and the best view of this is from the mineral pool at the ocean's edge. If you are a morning person it is a must do!!! If you aren't a morning person this may be enough to turn you into one :)

Room Tip: I have stayed in the regular rooms and the one bedroom suite. Both are amazing, so go with what work...

I was very Impressed with this hotel, from entering you are made to feel welcome,
staff are very friendly and helpful
Food in the restaurant and snug (bar) are both excellent, good selection.
Wonderful view out to the Ocean, within just a 10 minutes to Victoria Harbour but far enough away to feel out of the city.
We really enjoyed our stay and wille back again

Room Tip: Make sure you are on the ocean side, Just a magnificent view to wake up to.

We recently stayed in a room that was large, clean, comfortable and the view was spectacular. We had a little balcony and a table right in the window to enjoy our breakfast (we ordered in and were really impressed with the quality). We also enjoyed the mineral pools (we went once late in the afternoon of our arrival and again early in the morning - it didn't matter what the air temperature was as the pools were lovely for soaking with varying degrees of warmth). The pools alone were worth the extra price to stay at this hotel. The Pros - location, friendliness of staff, the view and the fact that, unlike some hotels, there were no extra charges for parking, using robes, the mineral pools, free water and coffee in the room, etc. The Con - we had friends join us in the Snug for dinner. It took over an hour after ordering for our food to be served and although the chowder was good, the rest of the food was rated really poorly by all the diners. We suggest going to the Snug for a drink but eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: Splurge for a view room.

A new hotel, built on the grounds of the old one has now opened in Oak Bay, B.C.
We stayed for 4 days in a Garden Suite that was beautifully furnished with a luxurious king bed and a soaker tub that opened to a view of the sea.
A well designed kitchenette, with granite tops and supplies was in the room, but off to the side so did not take away the ambience of the room.
Service with plently of friendly helpful smiles met us at every minute. Gracious, Grand, Glorious, Spa with a heated pool that will amaze you. Get up at 5:00am and watch the sunrise. SHHHHHHHHHHHHH thats Top Secret
Tasty pub lunches, dinners with friends, entertainment, very good website.
Look for special packages that will pick you up in a Rolls Royce from the airport.
We left feeling special, energized and happy. This Grand Lady will sweep you away. So we give this hotel a S rating, as Sensational is what they have achieved.
Carpe Diem.

Room Tip: Garden suites HUGE good for everyone. A nice covered patio with modern furniture awaits.

From the very moment we arrived, we were politely, professionally and quietly invited into the beautifully rebuilt Resort. Details have been impeccably thought out in advance, from room prep to the old Snug to dress code & manners, to overall presentation. Well done!!
