Having moved away from Vancouver, there is nothing more enticing then returning to visit and hitting all our favorite old spots, and at the top of our list is Jambo Grill!
It's differen't indian food then most people are used to, it has an african spin on it, and dishes that offer a taste of an african bbq.
I always order the bonless ribs, and my kids love the chicken wings, and i selfishly would say the ribs were too spicy for them, but on our last trip, they figured out my strategy, and tried the ribs, both the boneless and the fall of the bone, masai ribs, and they were hooked....it's just that bbq that you dream of having at a picnic or at home, but tastes like nothing you could come up with on your own, slightly spicy, but addictive.
I can't recommend this place enough, we have travelled the world and have had some amazing food, but here is a place that would hit our top ten for food we crave when we are away.
it really is a treat - run by a husband and wife team, so it's an added bonus to support a restaurant that isn't a big chain, overly priced and a boring menu.
The only feedback I would give is that the menu is HUGE - to big to choose from and has two menus that i wish they would condense into one, as it can be confusing, but on a positive note it also means there is something new to try each time we are lucky enough to visit and make it out to jambo grill.
