There are many restaurants located on Granville Island in Vancouver. I cannot say I have visited them all, but the Cats Social House should be ranked among the top restaurants.
We had a party of 14 going for lunch in August 2012. It was during the Summer Olympics when we visited. Surprisingly, the restaurant did not have too many visitors at the time, and we were able to be seated comfortably in the middle of the restaurant.
The atmosphere at Cats is like that of a sports grill - TV all over the restaurants were showing different programs (it was all Olympics during our visit). The place had sufficient lights and the noise level was minimal. We were able to converse freely without having to yell, nor disrupting others.
The food quality was excellent. For the price we paid ($300 for a party of 14), the portions were a little small for myself, but two of us with smaller appetites actually had to box some remaining food home.
Service was decent. The waitress who served us was pleasant, but unspectacular in terms of friendliness and service.
Overall, if you are looking for a good-atmosphered sports grill to have lunch when you visit Granville Island, Cats Social House is a very good choice to visit.
