“Overpriced for the experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

We had a party of 6 and found our table being served our meal well after two smaller tables were seated and served. We identified our designated driver as we ordered wine, and the server didn't bother asking if she wanted something else, then it took a while before he took an order for a soft drink and returned with it. He never asked if she wanted a refill. I had the cioppino which at $29 for an entrée was disappointing. The fish was dry and overcooked, the broth watery and arrived luke warm. We had two rack of lamb entrees, and one arrived barely warm. It looked like it had been cooked to rare (which was ordered) then reheated to be served. We certainly weren't a cheapskate table with the final tab coming to $500.00 - at that price point our expectations for food and service were not met. This was my first visit and we went at the recommendation of several people. Maybe this was just an off night but don't think we will give it a 2nd chance.

“First night of "dine out Vancouver" very well done”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

We have been to this restaurant many times and it is consistently very good. The management is excellent. Last night, unbeknownst to us, as we have been away, was the first night of the annual Dine Out Vancouver, otherwise known as "don't even try to go to a popular restaurant without a reservation" time in this city.
We were pleased with the $38 prix fixed three course. One can also dine off the regular menu. There is a wine pairing available but the makers of those wines are not generally known as the best vintners in BC and although priced fairly, they didn't seem like they would be very interesting. The stuffed Veal rouladen were very good on a bed of polenta which was not overly salty and warm beets. The spaghettini with prawns were very well prepared. The veal appi was excellent but on this night the mussel soup was really over salted for my taste so that one could not really get the flavor of the mussels, which were, however, nicely served not in the shells. Over all very good food and value.
By 7:30 the restaurant was packed, as I would think it rightly will be for the duration of DOV. The Service flowed quite well through out.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

We have eaten here many times over the years, and were quite disappointed with the food and the service. Coming back after a year we found the menu pretty much the same but the quality lower than before. That is to say, the anti-pasta choice was OK but not really special, and the duck breast was chewy and the vegetables undercooked. The reserved table had not been kept and the service was substandard. Disappointing.

“Perfect Food & Service - good wine list”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

I can't say enough good about this restaurant. The atmosphere was good... The service was excellent, with friendly, efficient and well timed appearances by our server. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. My partner and I were unable to fault anything during our dining experience at Provence Mediterranean Grill.

Took a party of 6 for lunch and was very happy with everything. We all enjoyed it and it was not overly expensive.
