I've been to Le Crocodile on a few occasions for dinner. This was my first time for lunch, and man it was just weird. The food was great, but the service was perplexing.
1. Waitress did not seem to understand social cues, and basic language. We had to repeat four times that there would be only two of us (original reservation was for three). She still seemed perplexed.
2. They brought an amuse bouche, but the person I was with does not eat meat. It had caribou. The waitress kept insisting there are mushroom and caribou in it, when she told her she won't be eating it because it has meat.
3. We ordered salads as appetizers, and they were hovering waiting for us to finish. Not comfortable.
4. Certain accents at the restaurant (French and other), can be difficult to understand. When they are asked to repeat themselves they give attitude.
This isn't Paris, it isn't even Montreal. That stuffiness does not fly here. It is actually quite shocking. If you look at my last review, one of my stand-out comments was how exceptional the service is for dinner. Clearly the bench is doing the lunch service.
Unlikely to return for lunch.
