Chambar Restaurant promises a truly unforgettable experience! The atmosphere takes you to a European locale, set any time in the last century. Deep woods, dark reds, amber lighting gives the room an elegant and nostalgic feeling. The service was very professional and yet personal. The waiter offered wonderful suggestions (especially with the extensive beer options) and helped us with the dishes (our family has varied tastes). The food was remarkable -- familiar ingredients but with a Belgian flair that surprises and satisfies. The lamb with honey, figs and cilantro was scrumptious as was the traditional Belgian Moule Frites (mussels and fries), is offered in variety of different styles. The mussels in tomato, coconut cream with chili and lime was incredible. Imaginative salads boasted a mix of textures, flavors and sauces. We could have eaten a second plate of the Boeuf et morilles (beef sirloin appetizer with candied chantrelles.) But then we might not have had room for the showstopper dessert-- Le Nico Fume (chocolate scotch cake with bacon caramel and burnt milk ice cream), which has lingered in our minds ever since! Simply a wonderful evening. We brought our teenagers for a special family dinner, but this would be a great setting for a romantic dinner date. The room in the back is quieter. Beer and wine selection is extensive and intriguing. We have to come back again. Delightful!
