“Satisfactory place for your hunger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

I and my husband celebrating the biggest of her life and we visited Bishop’s. There we ordered salmon tartar special, prawn bisque, sockeye salmon main, prawn risotto main and crème brulee. The presentation and taste of food in amazing that tickles our taste-buds. Food is really great and fresh; all the ingredients have their own taste in the dish.
Prawn bisque is one of the dishes which we like the most. It has some outstanding flavors and taste. No doubt, the ambience of Bishop’s is conservative and formal, but we had our part of fun. As we both want a peaceful place to spend time and discussing about future, so we enjoyed our part. There is no loud music so it is easy to gossip around. Tables are decorated with beautiful candles. We were greeted warmly and the servers were all very polite. Now we both have decided to visit this place again and enjoy ourselves. So basically, now it is our permanent food joint, whenever we visit Vancouver again.

“Sublime dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

We went to a Bishops on our first trip to Vancouver 23years ago. It is an essential part of our subsequent visits. Excellent food, attentive service, great ambience again. Crab risotto exceptional, duck moist and great flavour followed by eggnog crime brûlée is my recommendation. Our teenagers devoured the assiette of Pitt meadows beef . Lovely wine and try the featured Sauterne. Sorry we can't get back to see you this trip Mr Bishop.

“An Intimate Dinner at Bishop’s Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

Had reservations for two at 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening. This was my fourth time to this restaurant in the past few years. The service and food has always been very good. It was a relaxing and scrumptious dinner where it was quiet enough so we can have an enjoyable conversation.

Started with 6 oysters, then we had the beet salad and the crab risotto for appetizers. Both appetizers were very tasty. Prior to the appetizers, we were also treated to an amuse bouche.

For the entrées, we had the ling cod and one of the specials for the evening, scallops. Both seafood dishes were cooked just right. For dessert, we had the eggnog crème bulee and the cheesecake which were a great way to end the meal. Along with a glass of wine and a virgin cocktail, the total cost of the meal before tip was $182. It was a very enjoyable dinner and we would definitely return.

“superb cooking and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

the cooking and service were some of the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The menu is limited for choices and the cooking isn't the most eclectic I've ever had, but what they do they do very very well. They have an excellent wine list. John Bishop is a terrific host and even came out in the drizzle to find us a parking spot.

“Bishop's is just simply great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We have been to Bishops many times over the years and it is always consistently one of Vancouver's finest. The room is intimate, the wait staff very friendly and John is charming. They were one of the 1st restaurants to offer in house reading glasses. Just a little detail that was just wonderful. The food, the food you say? Okay, always tasty and beautifully presented. They come round with little bites for you to taste which is so nice and the flavors are amazing! I always enjoy the wonderful food and ambiance of this restaurant! Well worth a visit and soon to be on your list of fav Vancouver restaurants.
