“Outstanding Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

We've stayed before and knew what to expect. This visit however exceeded our expectations. The rooms are still in excellent condition. Still spotless. Well appointed. Great amenities. I love Molton Brown toiletries and look forward to staying here for them alone!

And the staff are still outstanding. Always friendly, smiling and welcoming. After checking into my room and leaving the hotel, I realized that my recently diagnosed dog allergies were playing up. A phone call to the Front Desk and Jill quickly sorted out a new room for me on the 11th floor. Both the 6th and 11th floors offer pet free accommodation (didn't know that when I booked). Even received an upgrade with a harbour view :). Thanks!

Close enough to the Vancouver Convention Centre to walk to, yet in a quiet neighbourhood. Great location for me.

Couple of suggestions would make this an even better place to stay for us though. Bring back the irons and ironing boards and dispense with the clothes steamers. And having an in-room coffee maker would be a definite improvement. I just want to wake up, make a coffee, grab a paper, sit back, read and enjoy the view, in my pjs.

Look forward to our next stay!

Dear BuccaneerDave,

It is always a pleasure to receive feedback from our valuable guests and we appreciate the time you took giving us a review on Trip Advisor. We are indeed a pet friendly hotel but still keep in mind that some of us suffer from allergies and we want to make sure that we can please all of our guests. The room you were upgraded to is a Loden Park Vista and features a lovely partial view of Coal Harbor and The North Shore mountains. For your next stay, we would be more than happy to deliver a coffee maker, an iron and ironing board as we have these items available upon request for our guests that rather press than fluff. We look forward to your next visit with us.

Sincerely,

Adrien Litargne

Billed as chic boutique and indeed portrays trend with excellent service. Rooms as expected per website and mobile app.; bathrooms fit and finish top notch yet tub is too small for comfortable soak unless you under 5' tall. Very quiet location and good sound proofing. View nice view from corner suite (paid upgrade) and bedding/pillows most comfortable. Downside is costly price doesn't justify any more quality or service than other top hotels nearby; foyer reception desk (first impression) is so beat up it looks as though it had 20 years of wear and tear; and our sheets and lounge chair -though clean, we're quite stained and should have been replaced. WiFi wasn't enabled first night to our and other guests inconvenience ( back online next morning) which could be a MAJOR shortfall to some including using hotel services APP. This is supposed to be after all the best hotel in Van ....???

Room Tip: Corner room upgrade if weather permits.

My fiancé and I were staying in the City for a night out. Room was Modern and Beautiful....Before bed we had a couple drinks in the lounge. I wanted a cup of tea in our room, our server was accommodating to have it brought up to our room. Definitely recommended place to stay for a quiet evening away :)

Room Tip: Sorry, I mistakenly pushed on spa for review

We had a wonderful three night stay. The excellent staff were always helpful and friendly. The location was ideal for easy walking access to many restaraunts, cafes, pubs and shops, fantastic room and amenities. Great place to stay for enjoying a Vancouver getaway.

The Loden was an absolute pleasure. My wife and I travelled to Vancouver for a long weekend and wanted to stay somewhere nice and centrally located. The Loden did not dissappoint...

- Location: The Loden is within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Vancouver is a really walkable city, and we had some longer walks, but nothing too crazy. Perfect location.

- Staff: The staff were friendly, inviting, helpful, and informative. From the moment we checked in, everyone was awesome. We got great dinner reservations from one of the managers as well.

-Rooms: The room we had was very nice. Semi-great view (there was a neighboring building that took up most of the view), but we didn't spend too much time there so who cares. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom very modern and chic. Just very inviting and super clean. We had fresh water and chocolates provided at turn-down.

-Food: We only ate breakfast at the attached restaurant, but it looked like a great dinner spot too. Breakfast was decent and gave us some fuel for the day. Loved the "Nespresso" machine in the lobby.

I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this to anyone going to Vancouver. I think it's definitely worth the price as well. I cannot complain about anything.

My husband and I were visiting family in Vancouver and were seeking a nice hotel downtown located so that we could walk along the water as well as to shops and the art museum. The Loden was perfect; very well designed, beautifully appointed, quiet. We took advantage of the breakfast and valet parking special rate; breakfast was in the in-house bistro and was delicious, upscale, fresh, satisfying. Hot items as well as fresh fruit, smoke salmon, muffins, yogurt. Perhaps the most memorable aspect is the service. We were warmly greeted with glasses of Prosecco, taken to a recommended restaurant in their town car, everyone was welcoming, gracious, helpful. We will most certainly return whenever we travel to Vancouver and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Great service and stylish rooms. Everyone we dealt with (including the manager who went out of his way to speak with us) was friendly and attentive. The layout of the basic room was excellent (had a unique and great bathroom, a floor to ceiling and wall to wall window in the main room that allowed fresh air, and a great built in desk and sofa). The location was convenient for business. Security was good as the guests only had access to the floor their room was on and the common floors. The hotel had two courtesy cars for trips within downtown. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was not noisy (even though our room was close to the elevator). The value was outstanding. It was very close to your dream boutique hotel and must have been awesome when new. Why not five stars? The room, while chic, was sliding to shabby chic. The wood veneer in the rooms was scratched and badly worn in the desk area and overall looked tired throughout. The line between shabby and chic is narrow, and while the bathroom and its fixtures and window and layout kept the room solidly on the chic side of shabby chic, the shabby side was lurking. Plus while the breakfast was OK, the porridge was cold (even early in the breakfast service). The actual street the hotel is on is OK and safe, but with a car park next door and a strip-mall-looking-sushi restaurant across the street, it is not posh. Still, if you want value, service, and appreciate great interior design, then, like us, you will be back.
