My wife and I were in Vancouver last week and stayed at the Corkscrew Inn. We travel a lot for my business and always try to stay at B&B's whenever possible. Our experience at the Corkscrew Inn was wonderful, and we would certainly go back.
The B&B is a charming Arts and Crafts home built in 1912 and recently restored. We enjoyed the great attention to detail that is evident throughout the house and in our room. The bed was very comfortable and we felt at home. Our room (the Edwardian) was small but very cozy and right next to the dining room and kitchen.
We did not see the other rooms which are upstairs but they are apparently somewhat larger.
The location of the Inn is in the Kitsilano neighborhood in West Vancouver, close to the university. There are many shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Parking on the street was quite easy, except during the evening of fireworks.
Aside from the charms and comforts of the house, our hosts Marnie and Wayne really made us feel welcome. One morning when I had to leave early for my conference, Marnie prepared a breakfast plate for me to have later when I got back. In all our travels, this has never happened before! The gourmet breakfasts were delicious, above and beyond the usual fare. For example, one day Wayne bought fresh Salmon and smoked it in the backyard and we had it the next morning in our eggs. The jellies are all homemade. We could go on and on.
In short, everything about the stay was exceptional and we give it our strongest recommendation.
