“Enjoyed our time at the Corkscrew”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

We were visiting our daughter who is a freshmen at UBC and wanted to stay closer to UBC and to enjoy a Vancouver neighborhood. We flew to UBC and used only public transportation. The Corkscrew Inn was very conveniently located. We were easily able to get there from the airport using public transportation. The bus system is great around Vancouver and many buses are available right near the Corkscrew Inn. Our room was very comfortable and the food was great. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. It was also nice how there was always tea, coffee and cookies available. Besides our room we also enjoyed our time in the living room. It was nice to have access to a refrigerator both downstairs and upstairs. There are so many local shops and restaurants to try. We didn't spend as much time at the beach as we had hoped to. Too many things to do! We look forward to returning and exploring more. Thanks

Returned to the lovely Corkscrew Inn this time to settle my daughter into UBC.It was just like returning home,A warm welcome lovely rooms, comfy beds and fab food. The guest house in a quiet road but just a short walk away from many local shops and restaurants or the sea.I very much enjoyed being able to walk into Downtown Vancouver along the sea shore .I am sure I will return again

We returned to the Corkscrew Inn and again enjoyed this restful, well appointed home. The friendly, helpful staff and wonderful breakfast made our stay so comfortable. The house is close to lots of great walks, the waterfront, convenient shops, restaurants and public transit. Ottawa couple

Beautiful location and place to stay with a wonderful host. Spent the weekend to go to a family wedding and loved the place and being in Kitsalano made it that much better. Great breakfast and place to sit on the patio to read a book or play a guitar. You cant go wrong staying at the Cork Screw Inn.

The Corkscrew was a lovely place to stay, nice rooms and great privacy, and a wonderful location. It was our first time in Vancouver, and the Corkscrew gave us great access to a wonderful and lush neighborhood, amazing waterfront, and buses to go downtown or many other places. The breakfast left something to be desired, but that was because the B&B manager was on vacation. Overall, we were thrilled with the Corkscrew and with the Kitsilano neighborhood, and look forward to going back.

Lovely refurbished victorian home. Nicley fitted out with comfortable bed and french doors opening onto a balcony. Nice breakfasts and good ambience. Well situated not far from good food shops and transport on Fourth Avenue and close to the beach and swimming pool.

Room Tip: Rooms follow themes and are variably priced. We thought an upstairs room would be best.

Stayed here for 6 nights on a reunion with friends. A bit out of the way from downtown. However convenient access by bus to both downtown as well as UBC (university). Local supermarkets (Safeway and Whole Foods Market) plus dry cleaners are within walking distance.
The beach is only a short walk away.
The house is beautifully restored, using the interesting theme of corkscrews. Do not forget to pay a visit to the museum in the base, which houses the owner's impressive collection of them.
Each morning a delicious cooked breakfast is provided. Cold cereals/bread/fruit and yoghurt are also available. Free wi-fi is part of the deal.
Karen, the innkeeper as well as Wayne (owner) are both extremely helpful with tips and hints with touring the area.
This is not necessarily a cheap place to stay and may not provide all the conveniences of a large hotel but makes up for this by being clean, friendly and homely.

Room Tip: Avoid the room next to the breakfast room (The Edwardian) if you wish to sleep in.
