“Great Times Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

This visit was my fourth in a year. I have been on a 36' power, 36' sail, 40' sail and most recently a 42" sail. In those times I have completed competent crew for sail and power, day skipper for sail and power, as well as most recently, coastal navigation and advanced sail. All of the four times the staff and training were very professional and the vessels were in good shape. The scenery was awesome and I look forward to my next vacation with Blue Pacific.

“Blue Pacific Charters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

These guys are great. Me and my family took a 5 day trip up the Sunshine Coast. Mike directed us into a great boat that fit our needs for 5 people. It was one of those trip that will have a lifetime of memories.

“Spectacular from Start to Finish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

A few years ago we began to think seriously about taking our dreams of boating and turning them into reality. During our research we determined that Blue Pacific offered courses that led to an ISPA (International Sail and Power Academy) designation which is recognized in many countries including the British Virgin Islands where we imagined bareboat chartering in the future. In discussing our needs with both Mike and Sirpa of Blue Pacific, they provided answers to all of our questions. Once we were satisfied that training through them was the right choice for us, we asked to ensure we received an instructor that was both an expert as well as "fun". Our teacher, John Fairweather more than met our expectations. He was proficient (has been on the water since sailing with his father when he was 8 years old) and a real comedian with his sense of humour. John gave us all the tools we needed to be a good Crew Member and Skipper.

We have since Skippered two different boats in the Blue Pacific fleet and look forward to many more happy adventures with them in the future.

“Good people to deal with but a few hitches.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We had to arrange our charter from a distance as we live in the UK, so it was a bit worrying to deal with an unknown company.
We were able to arrange the whole thing quite easily by phone and email and Mike and the staff helped us to get the charter organised quite smoothly.
We rented a 35ft motor cruiser for four days and we knew it was a little older and similar to ours (my friend's) in Europe so we expected it would need gentle and sympathetic handling.
Overall the boat was in good condition given its age and was generally clean and properly equipped. A few aspects would not meet European safety regulations, but we were not in Europe so no real complaints here.
Charts and electronic nav were provided and most things worked.
We called over to see the boat the day before we were due to take it and mike and the staff were quite happy for us to spend time looking over it and finding out what it had to offer.
On the day, we spent a couple of hours moving on board and looking over the general condition and were shown the location of all important parts and what to look out for. This gave us a chance to point out a few things needed and a few things which had been overlooked in the companies checks and preparation. Probably the most serious would have been that the outboard motor for the tender would not start, but this was dealt with before we left.
The main part of the charter went well with few problems and we had a great trip around the stunningly scenic Vancouver area.
Unfortunately, on the last day there was a bit of a problem when, there was a loud and worrying mechanical crunching and we lost all drive in the main harbour!
We called Mike and the rescue services for safety and after some time a tow was arranged and we were returned safely to the Blue Pacific base.
Not unsupprisingly, there was no immediate proof of what the problem was and whether we had caused it, although we knew we had not.
Mike was fair and diplomatic and said that it was normal practice, if there was a problem, to send a diver down to inspect. This was done the following morning and to be sure, the boat was lifted out of the water for further inspection.
It turned out that, as we suspected, the problem was purely a mechanical breakdown and all was dealt with smoothly and courteously.
I would hapilly consider using Blue Pacific again although perhaps a few more mechanical checks prior to rental would avoid future problems.

“Great Boats, Great Place, Great People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

My pals and I are repeat customers for Blue Pacific, and have chartered from othesr in BC and northern Seattle as well. Blue Pacific beats our other experiences by a long shot. I agree with all the other positive comments. Our crew typically rents a power boat in the 40 ft range to head up through the Straits of Georgia for a week in the Desolation Sound area. The boats have always been clean and in good working order, both those owned by Blue Pacific, and those rented through them from other "owners". We do a thorough check of all systems prior to embarking, and any relatively small problems we've encountered were immediatly fixed.
The staff is great, and I have no doubt they would do all they could to fix problems and find solutions if we had troubles underway. It has been a couple of years since we've been able to get back, but we are leaving for Granville Island in a week, and I can't wait!
