Same Sun

I have stayed here twice, It is a secure hostel they use pin codes to get you up to the rooms and, after hours, into the hostel that change everyday.
While the lower level rooms do get to listen to the music from the bar down stairs, its sweet as if youre keen for a night on the town.
I wouldnt enter the bathrooms without jandals on thought, they have a bit to be desired.
But I met some nice people and the bar down stairs does amazingly cheap dinners every night - I loved that.

it was loud- dirty and expensive
Granville street is pretty scary at night, with panhandlers and drunks hanging out there
not my cup of tea- don't stay there

I am not sure why the reviews are so poor for this place. It is not the Ritz Carlton but is a safe and fun place to stay. The place has a nice bar in the lobby and I met so many people during my stay there. If you like a very quiet place that is spotless than stay across the street. If you are traveling by yourself and want to met fun people to check out the town, then this is your place

“Great Location”

Book this hostel if you just need a place to crash, the location is perfect for nightlife on granville and in yaletown, and just a quick walk to robson street and stanley park, check in took awhile and the rooms kinda smelled bad, but for the price it was great!

This hostel is alright but I was recomended by others that the HI's in Vancouver are nicer - they had been in both. Having only been in samesun I found it alright. It's not the nicest, but its ok. Serves its purpose of giving me a bed for the night for cheap, and includes a small breakfast so I didnt have a problem. Had I been staying in Vancouver for a while though, I probably would have gone to the HI central.
Overall its not bad - good internet/tv room/kitchen etc.
