Because I had a great experience at Samesun Banff, I choose Samesun Vancouver instead of Hi! Vancouver which is litteraly accross the street. For the same location Hi! is more expensive because it's simply much better. A lot of people did like me, first Samesun and then cross the street to be able to sleep.
The hostel is huge, it looks like a student dorm or a factory if you like. The 6 beds dorms are extremely small, it's simply overcrowded, you have no space for your luggage, not enough plugs for six people, no daylights because there are beds in front of the window...
The girl bathrooms are not big enough, there is a line up on the morning... the kitchen is as well wayyyyy to small for such a big building.
If you like to party and are looking for friends, this could be a good spot for you.
However if you want to visit Vancouver and have a good rest at night, just forget about it!
Good point: breakfast is huge.
