“Great bakery--don't miss out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

We always stop at Maxim's for pastries. Always fresh and tasty, yum yum! The prices are cheap that each time we're there, we always look twice to verify if that's what it really is priced at. For example, most of their pastries are 3 for $1.20 or in that price range and normal serving size. No kidding. We bought 6 bbq humbaus and an assortment of pastries for $10.60. We haven't tried dim sum there but its on all our list next time we're in town.

“Good food and reasonably priced...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

Despite being in Chinatown that is becoming a ghost town, this is one of the few decent Chinese restaurant that is like Hong Kong Cafe style...Western food mixed for Chinese people...

“Cheap, tasty and authentic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

We ate lunch at the restaurant upstairs, which was packed. We were the only non-Chinese diners in the restaurant. The menu is in Chinese and English. The food was great and cheap. We then bought a couple of desserts in the bakery downstairs on our way out. They were delicious. We didn't try any of the non-sweet baked goods, but they looked great and were super cheap so we're going back tomorrow to try them out.

“You'll Love Their Buns”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

This bakery in the heart of Chinatown had some of the best baked buns, filled with sweet or savory, I have ever tasted. The place is very clean. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Variety is incredible (including some beautifully decorated cakes). The prices were VERY low. Can't wait to go back the next time I visit Vancouver!
