“Great spot but.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Great area great apartments, but make sure you ate given apartment you have booked. We asked for 2 king beds but got 1 king and a double. We should have demanded another apartment. They are available. We would definitely stay again but would demand what we had paid for. It had everything you needed, asked for more towels. Check on air conditioning in ALL rooms some only have air con in one bedroom.
Good shopping restaurants and close to tourist activities

Room Tip: Check that what you have paid for is what you get

Dear LucystellaAustralia,

Thank you for reviewing Vancouver Extended Stay. We appreciate your comments and are happy to hear that you found everything you needed in your suite.
I am sorry that you were not happy with the size of your beds, so I wanted to take the time to explain how the bed sizes in our suites work. All of our two bedroom suites are advertised as having a queen bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the second bedroom. However, we do have a few suites with a king sized bed in the master bedroom. If you request a king sized bed we will always do our very best to accommodate you, but the second bedroom will always have a double bed in it. We simply don’t have any rooms with two king sized beds.
If you have any further questions about bed sizes please do not hesitate to contact our sales department directly.
We are glad to hear that you would choose us again and we will look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Vancouver.

Sincerely,
The Management Staff at Vancouver Extended Stay

I have stayed in a extended stay apratment in the residences numerous times, over the last 6 months.

The check in process is easy, I have stayed in both the East and West tower and the apartments are all equally good quality, although at one trip I was spoiled because my apartment was high up on the West Tower facing Stanley park and the views are fantastic.

Everything is very clean and upto date and makes the stay away from home comfortable.

The location is good down town and easy walking commute to many restaurants.

If I had to change anything I would refresh the equipment in the gym

I look forward to staying there again in the near future

My husband, toddler and I stayed here for four nights in August 2012. We were very happy with the accommodation in particular the location being close to Stanley park, great restaurants and the sea wall. Kitchen and laundry facilities were great for eating in and keeping costs down. The check in process was very efficient and friendly and free secure parking was a bonus. Only downside was a double bed when we would have expected at least a queen size and very thin blinds which didn't keep sun out - sun stayed out until 9 pm which made it impossible for our toddler to settle. Views spectacular from our floor. You will love this place.

Dear Nins79,

All of us at Vancouver Extended stay would like to thank you for writing such a complimentary review of your stay with us. We appreciate all the comments we receive and are especially happy when the comments are also compliments!

It is good to hear that you found the location and the amenities we provide be convenient and cost effective. However, there are two points in your review that we would like to address for future stays with us.

The sun certainly does keep late hours in the summer in Vancouver — I can imagine that is difficult with a toddler! Nearly all of our bedrooms do have black out blinds. However, a few suites do not have them because the owner of the suite has removed them. We are sorry you did not find black out blinds in your suite when you needed them. In the future, we will be happy to put you in a room with black out blinds. Please request one when you book your suite and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

We also wanted to explain that all of our beds are standardized. All of our one bedroom suites have queen sized beds. All of our two bedroom suites have a king or a queen sized bed in the master bedroom. Double beds are only found in the second bedrooms of our two bedroom suites. We hope this helps explain the bed sizes clearly so you will be comfortable on your next visit.

Once again, thank you for writing a review and recommending us to other travellers. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you again soon.

Sincerely,
The Management Staff at Vancouver Extended Stay

We stayed for a week at the suites on West Georgia during a conference and found it to be perfect! It was a short 10-15 minute walk to the convention center, but most importantly, only 5 minutes away from all the restaurants and shops nearby! We were happily surprised to be given a two bedroom condo (~700 sq ft) that was beautifully appointed. We had the cleanliness and the security we expected from a hotel, but with more space and a lower price! Wifi and parking was included. We would certainly stay there again for a future trip!

Having never been to Vancouver, I wasn't sure what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. The condos were conveniently located to everything we needed -- shopping (high end in one direction, practical necessities in another direction) restaurants, and waterfront were all within easy walking distance. Condo was clean and well-appointed, but not what I would call luxury.

Room Tip: Stayed in Unit 2803 which had adequate air-conditioning. And enjoyed the view.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Loved the location of the apartment and the decor (we stayed in Unit 3105 of the Residences on Georgia). It is within a couple of blocks to both good shopping and to the waterfront. The bedrooms are quite small but adequate, and very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. Odd smells in the kitchen/laundry area though. Now for the negatives: if you are reserving more than one room, say for a family get-together like a wedding, make sure both rooms are in the SAME tower. It was very inconvenient that we could not visit our relatives in their apartment without issues of access to the other building. (Our elderly mother could not deal with the buzzers, key fobs, elevator floor restrictions, etc. that required instead that someone meet us down in the lobby to let us up.) Also, make sure your unit is air conditioned throughout! Vancouver may think it does not need it, but we were sweltering up on the 31st floor with a portable unit that cooled only the closest few feet of the living room, let alone the bedrooms. Ridiculous to find no A/C in high end accommodations- even the cheapest motels in the U.S. have it. If you're not visiting in the summer, it will not be a problem. Lastly, although our unit was furnished with inexpensive IKEA furniture, it was attractive - but not all units are decorated the same and you may or may not find it to your liking.

Room Tip: Ask for a unit with air conditioning throughout the apartment if you are traveling in the summer. S...

Dear SeattleTrvlr,

Thank you for taking the time to connect with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you liked your suite. We are very proud of our prime location and happy that you appreciated it too.

However, we are sorry you found that you found a few things that were inconvenient during your stay and we would like to address these points for you.

Your comment about the key fobs has already prompted a conversation and a change in fob-issuing-policy. While still maintaining a high level of security, we are now able to work with building management and program the fobs for specific floors on the request of guests who are staying on different floors or in different towers. This is a great example of how feedback really can prompt positive changes. Thank you!

Also, you are absolutely right about the AC! Vancouverites don’t even think about it for over well over 300 days in the year. In fact, our buildings — like most residential buildings in Vancouver — don’t have central air conditioning at all. All of our suites do have AC units which, when used properly, are quite effective. We are all surprised to hear that the AC unit in your unit did not cool your suite enough. It is a brand new unit and we will take care to inspect it thoroughly and replace it if needs be.

Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts and we hope to welcome you at Vancouver Extended Stay again in the near future.

Sincerely,

The Team at Vancouver Extended Stay
