We called your Customer service line and were greeted by a wonderful person who was very patient and addressed all of our questions regarding room accommodations as well as things we could do in Vancouver. We were so impressed by her outstanding customer service at the time that we booked a four night stay at the Opus.
Mr. Benjamin Best sent me a welcome note prior to our arrival via email introducing him, and asking if we needed anything in the room for our stay – this was a first for me! In all of my years traveling on a international level have I received such attention to detail and customer care BEFORE our arrival. Mr. Best and I actually had a chance to chat as I did need something in the room for my wife. During this call, Benjamin explained how easy it would be for us to take public transportation to the hotel from the airport – I recall him saying, “Dr. Nitenson, our hotel is across the street from the underground, it will take you no more than five minutes to get to us from where you get off the train”.
When we arrived on the morning of May 7th, Mr. Best, and Mr. Toby Hodgson greeted us, asked about our flight, and ride from the airport to the hotel – I noted that I was a little thirsty and requested a glass of water. To my surprise, Mr. Best went and got two glasses of sparkling wine, which was a gracious and well received offer. Mr. Hodgson spoke to us during this time and shared what we could do during our stay. Toby even offered to drop us off anywhere we chose after we got settled in our room.
Never, in all of my travels have I or my wife and I received such outstanding service as guests at any hotel, including JW Marriott, Four Seasons, or the Ritz… I have been a Marriott Platinum Elite member for the past ten years, and your staff out performed any service level I have received in these past ten years! The glass of sparkling wine was only one of many gestures of outstanding these two gentlemen and other members of your client facing team.
Toby was especially helpful in making sure our adventures in Vancouver were as safe and fun as possible. He even drove us to our city destination when his time permitted, and showed us specific sites we should take in.
Between Toby’s and Benjamin’s dining suggestions, we ate some of the best tasting seafood, Indian, and “comfort” food restaurants – not the fancy ones, but the ones that had the best food! We saw a great deal of your beautiful city, Grouse Mountain, and Lynn Canyon during our four night stay.
Barbara and I are blessed to have met those who served us during our stay and we wish to especially thank Toby and Bingaman for their gracious and spectacular service level! We will be returning to Vancouver to visit, and when we do, I assure you we will be staying at the OPUS Hotel – Count on it!
There are no BAD rooms at this hotel!
