“Loved the Bosman--came back and stayed there the next year”

We first stayed at Bosman because of the price and the location. We were going to the Grey Cup in 2005 and decided on the Bosman in spite of some the negative reviews we had read. We were 4 adults going to a football game and going to be doing a lot of drinking and some the negative things in the reviews did not really bother us. The hotel looked like it had seen better days but was very adequate for the price and we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel. I enjoyed the hotel so much i stayed there again the following year. The second time was in Sept. and I did need the airconditioning and it was very noisy. The room was clean. There is a little lounge at the hotel and it is a little sketchy. A woman was being thrown out for shooting up in the washroom the first time we went in for a drink--but we went back so it didn't bother us too much.

“Very good”

We stayed here for the last 3 days of our holiday in Canada to see the sights of Vancouver which we had previously seen only on a daily basis. Very close to downtown Vancouver. Room was adequate, bathroom clean, maid service great. Our only complaint would be the receptionist dressed in black, he will know who he is. I asked for a non smoking room and was told by him that I "reeked" of smoke and would be charged a sanitation fee if I had a non smoking room. Yes I am a smoker, but have never smoked in a bedroom and was very annoyed by his comments and attitude. Maybe he needs a course on customer services. Usually the customer is always right, but definately NOT in this case. Apart from this mans attitude, we had a great ending to our stay in BC. I would recommend Bosman's to anyone.

“Not that bad!”

Bosman's Vancouver Hotel

We were pretty desperate to stay at the Bosmans - I was very hesitant after reading all the bad reviews but our cash was running low and we needed a place for 5 nights before we could move into our apartment.

We checked into room 330 and were given a large room with two double beds. The room was very clean, the bathroom looked as if it had been recently renovated. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping cleaned the room every morning (except Sunday when for some reason they called at 3pm and asked if we wanted our room serviced).

The only bad thing about the hotel is the smell - particularly in the lifts. One day it was almost gag-worthy. Our room did not smell and we had a room overlooking the carpark so it was not noisy at all. Air con was noisy and old and we did not use it and the rooms got quite hot in the morning sun.

I would stay there again if I only needed basic accommodation in Vancouver. Ask for a room overlooking the carpark on an upper floor if you are worried about noise. I hope they sort out the smell!!

This hotel was nasty.
Homeless people hanging around the parking lot
Bad odor throughout the hotel
face plates missing off electric outlets
smoke detector hanging 12" from ceiling appeared to be nonworking
nasty stained bed linens with many holes
TV remote was broken
Hotel on very busy noisy street, hard to sleep.
would not go again and cannot recommend.

“convenient - but shabby”

Bosman's Vancouver Hotel

Sep 25, 2007

I would have to agree with the last couple of reviews. We stayed for 3 nights in mid-september. The hotel is quite shabby, the lobby is small - we ending up queuing outside waiting to check in. There was an noticable (foisty is the only was I can describe it) smell in the hotel corridor, which luckily wasn't as strong in the rooms. The air conditioning unit was noisy - no way could you sleep with it turned on - so we didn't even try but we found in the mornigns that the windows ended up with tons of condensation. Our room also faced the street which was noisy (probably an understatement) - traffic was pretty much constant.

The staff were pleasant enough - they stowed our bags for us as we were early checking in and also kept them after we checked out for a couple of hours as well.

I wouldn't return here - the only thing that went in its favour was the location.
