“Pure Indulgence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

We stopped at this restaurant after a fun day of exploring Granville Island with the kids. The service was mediocre, but the food and libations made up for it significantly, hence the 5 stars. The servers were nice enough, just not in any kind of hurry to take your order, serve it, clear your dishes, or bring you another round! You have to flag the super nice staff down, but the maple bacon Bloody Caesar, mussels with cilantro and onion, ling cod fish and chips with wasabi slaw and duck fried frites were truly melt in your mouth delicious. The fries also came with a side of of bacon aioli to die for. I would highly recommend splurging here for some drinks and lunch/dinner!

“Gastronomic pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We had brunch at this restaurant on April 14 and were completely impressed. From the inventive menu, we chose the waffles (with maple syrup/rhubarb compote/whipped ricotta and honey) and the Irish breakfast (eggs/ham/banger/potatoes/mushrooms/home made bread - enough for 2 people!). Aside from the incredible tastes, the price was more than reasonable and Ewen's service superb. This bistro focuses on locally and Canadian-sourced products. They also have a small 'food boutique' where you can purchase many of these products (with a percentage off if you eat in the restaurant). It is a popular place (as is any restaurant with great food!), and we would suggest reservations. We hope they continue to do well. We would also like to mention the friendly greeting and wonderful service of the maîtresse d'. We are looking forward to returning for dinner...as soon as possible!

This was a pleasant surprise, from the outside it looked almost cafeteriash, but the dinner was excellent! Filled up fast so make reservations, staff was great. Leave time to visit the store!

“Wonderful spot for a unique meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Edible Canada Bistro is really something special. With a menu that celebrates Canadian ingredients in inventive ways, you really can't go wrong. There are many options for special diets, too - vegetarian, gluten-free. It's a great place to spot for a bite during an afternoon wandering Granville Island Market and the general False Creek area. My only complaint is the TV screens - I really dislike eating in restaurants where TV screens are blaring. It takes away from what is otherwise a really nice experience. I wish they would reconsider this and turn the TVs off.
