“Downtown accomodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Meeting up with a ex work colleague for the BC Bike Race in Vancouver the Ramada on W. Pender St is ideally situated. Make sure you know which Ramada you are staying at when you get a taxi from the airport!
Dated in decor but has character. Staff really helpful.
My friends mtb was lost during trandfer at LAX but while we were out during the day the bike was delivered and the staff took it to our room.
Close to the not so desireable parts of town although we had no hassle. Don't look any further out of town than the Ramada.
The good restaurants and bars are in Gastown only a few minutes walk and close to Starbuck's and Tim Hortons.
We used the breakfast facilities on the first morning, nothing special so hence the popular coffee shops.
Lift can get a bit cramped with two guys, 2 bikes in bags and luggage.
Comfortable room and beds, 2 x large beds not singles nor king size, air con and windows that open. Tea and coffee facilities, en-suite shower etc.
Being close to popular area don't be suprised by the sound of sirens. It's a busy city.
Fair price for location. Worth a look. Will stay there again next I go to Vancouver.

Very happy to hear your stay with us was enjoyable. As stated, our location can't be beat and you will be hard pressed to find more friendly staff at any hotel in the world!! (no..really!!!). We really enjoy chatting with our guests and making sure they don't miss anything while visiting this amazing city.

This hotel is located just a few blocks away from Gastown, the Waterfront complex, Canada Place, the Cruise terminal and Chinatown. It also has a bus stop next door that will take you just about anywhere in town, including Stanley Park. The Canada Line (Airport) and the Skytrain stations are also only a few blocks away. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Rooms are small and unfortunately we had a room next to the elevator, so it was noisy. The breakfast is very basic and the breakfast room is rather small for the size of this hotel, so go early.

Room Tip: Not in the front of the hotel or next to an elevator.

Great staff. Breakfast can get crowded downstairs. Rooms are small. Super small. We stayed for two days before we left for a cruise. Our cruise room was bigger than our room at the Ramada Limited. We were not in a suite on the cruise either. With that said when I booked the Ramada it was the cheapest hotel in the downtown area that had decent reviews by about 40 bucks. We spent very little time in the room. Did a tour and gastown the first day, did Stanley Park and a BC Lions game the next day and then went to Granville Island before our cruise. (the Ramada kept our bags as we ventured off before our cruise).

We arrive at about noon and our room was available. Which was great!

The area is interesting. Just blocks from Gastown and other main shopping areas, but the three block area or so around the hotel does look a little shady compared to most places in Vancouver. However when we came back at night we never felt threatened. There were always lots of people around so we felt fine. We walked all the way back from the football game with no problem.

We didn't go to the restaurant next door but it looked like a typical pub menu.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed review. There are many things I love about this review. Clearly this reviewer did their research before booking and found that we are a perfect choice for anyone visiting the Downtown Core. Being a 100 year old building..our rooms can be considered to be a little small but as stated in this review...most people who are visiting the downtown area will be out and about most of the day and really only using the room to sleep. We hope we will have you stay with us again!

This hotel was almost all I wanted for a one night stay. Well located. Very near the port. The room was OK. The "almost" is because the bathroom had a strong urine smell.
We arrived late at night and the door was closed. The clerk was helping other guests and we had to wait outside for him to arrive. He was very courteous, though.

My husband and I had a great stay in Vancouvcer, BC. Our stay at the Ramada Limited could not have been better. Hopefully we will make it back to Vancouver and will stay at this great hotel. We were in walking distance to the event we were attending. The staff was great.

it's nice to stay in Ramada downtown as it's located so closed to a lot of attraction such as Gas town and Granville street.

Service was good and reception are good
however, there is only one thing I would hope to improve. when I arrive to the hotel and do the check in at 1pm. no room is available. I understand the check in time is 3pm and check out time is 11am. however, 4 hours for preparation is rather long for us. this is a burden as I have to walk around with all my heavy backpack (i have my laptop with me so I dont' want to keep them in the hotel storage room). but generally I enjoy my stay
