“good budget option central to many areas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Good, simple, but well kept budget hotel. 3 good nights of sleep on a business trip. Breakfast, simple but efficient included. Returned a few times and always a good experience with friendly staff, both at the front and with cleaning personnel.Easy in and out of town in a range of directions

Room Tip: All rooms have same kind of set up and are far enough from the road for a good sleep.

This hotel is close enough for us when we visited Vancouver. This was our first trip to Vancouver. The beds seemed a bit smaller than the US Days Inn hotels. Breakfast was good. This hotel is near to some of the shops.

They do have a "garden" between the buildings but there was not much to see in November. I guess they look better in Spring/Summer.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Yes the colours in the garden look much nicer today than they did in November, Sean Barrington, Operations Manager.

We stayed in the Days Inn Vancouver Metro for four nights, then travelled to Victoria for two nights, then returned to the Days Inn Vancouver Metro for four more nights.

To get to this hotel we took the Expo line from Waterfront to Nanaimo Station. From Nanaimo you can catch a 25 bus going towards UBC, but we tended to walk. To walk exit the station. With your back to the station go left. You will be going uphill through a pleasant residential area. Keep going straight till you reach Kingsway then go right. Walking along Kingsway you will pass several Vietnamese restaurants and a Dollarama before reaching the hotel. Total walking time is around 15 - 20 minutes. I enjoyed the walk.

The reception staff were friendly when we arrived and check in was quick and efficient. Our room was directly above reception facing the street. The room was clean and comfortable, but there was quite a lot of traffic noise.

In the room we had a large fridge and a coffee maker. Teas and coffee were provided.

The bed was comfortable, but it took me a while to get used to the traffic noise.

Our shower always had plenty of hot water.

The hotel's wifi was consistently good and the signal strong.

Breakfast consisted of cereal, bread for toasting, bagels, muffins, Danish pastries, apples, coffee, tea, juice and water. It was fine.

The biggest plus of this hotel for us was that when we went to Victoria for two days they were happy to store our bags. I was delighted by this as it made our trip to Victoria so much easier.

When we returned, we were given a room at the back of the hotel next to the sunken garden. This room was so much quieter than the one at the front of the hotel and I slept really well here. As well as the fridge and coffee maker, this room also had a microwave.

On the walk from the station when you arrive at Kingsway there is a convenience store which was good for sandwiches, across the road was a convenient liquor store.

The hotel was right next to a McDonalds if you want one of those. On one evening we walked right instead of left when we exited the hotel and kept going till we reached a pub called Cedar Cottage. We had great fish and chips here.

I found all the staff at Days Inn helpful and pleasant, the breakfast lady, the chamber maids, the receptionists. I liked the location and found it easy to get around. There was a bus to Stanley Park from just outside the hotel and to UBC. The skytrain was easy to reach.

I would happily stay here again.
