We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton. Excellent location. We walked to most places and when we took the car we had easy access to all of the bridges and Highway 1. The staff were very helpful, even printed driving directions for us. There is a sanwich shop on one corner of the building and it has really good sandwiches and soups. Very friendly mom and pop kind of place.

Stayed at the Hampton for 3 nights - Sept. 14-17 at the end of a 12 day western Canada trip. We were concerned about the location (being on the east side of Vancouver and not downtown) as we returned our rental car, but that was not a problem.
Very nice hotel, front desk personnel very helpful. I loved the rooms with the floor to ceiling windows making the room very bright during the day. They have fridge, coffee maker and microwave. It is hard to find accommodation in Vancouver that has smoking rooms, but the Hampton allocate the 4th floor for smokers. We were walking distance to the boat to Granville Island, a casino, a few blocks from Yaletown and a little further to the Tower in Downtown. We planned on taking the Hop on Hop Off Bus, but had covered all we wanted to see except Stanley Park, so decided to just take a taxi as it was a cloudy day. One way fare was around $10.00 - cheaper than paying $33.00 pp for the bus.

Plenty of restaurants in the Yaletown district, but can be confusing, even when reading the menus posted outside. We ate across the road from the Hampton - at Players Chophouse -the last night and it was excellent! Service and food were excellent. They were very busy at first, serving the guests going to the Keith Urban concert, but once they cleared out, we were given their undivided attention.

We enjoyed not being right downtown in "the thick of things" and found this hotel to be excellent. Take advantage of their hot continental breakfast! Be sure to visit the top floor with the whirlpool and gym, if only to take pictures of the surrounding area.

  • Liked — Large clean rooms with floor to ceiling windows.
  • Disliked — No pool, but we did enjoy the whirlpool on the top floor.

This is a lovely hotel in Vancouver. The rooms were lovely and the public areas are very nice. Our room was large with 2 double beds with a fridge and a micro wave. Bottled water was left in the room every day too which is a nice touch. The complimentary breakfast every morning was great with a large selection. There is a small shop along with a restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant closed at 9pm which is a bit early but there are plenty of places to eat around. The hotel is right across the road from the BC Stadium. The is a fitness room with a sauna and jacuzzi on the top floor which was nice but there was never enough towels. The only fault that I can find with this hotel is that it is about 3 or 4 blocks too far down on Robson, I'm not sure I would feel safe walking around on my own. Overall this is a great hotel and I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly.

We have had 3 good days here in Vancouver.
Room very comfortable.
Location right at the Bottom of Robson St, quite a bit of building work in neighbourhood (all over Vancouver).
The rate I got was quite good for a downtow hotel, and the free BFast helps with the costs.
Breakfast typical of free Buffet in this Hotel chain but very adequate.
Staff very helpful and provided us with free shuttle to local location.

  • Liked — Clean and Very functional
  • Disliked — Need to use room key in Lift was irritating

We stayed for two nights in August. The hotel is located at the end of Robson Street near BC Place, but not that convenient to most places on Robson. The first room we had was very nice but the bathroom was terrible. It had a Jacuzzi tub that seemed nice but was very inconvenient. The controls and height made it difficult to use the tub and shower. The water seemed rusty at least when compared to the white color of the tub. Most importantly the tub leaked profusely when usuing the shower both because of the design and the shower curtain was too short. The tub had an extender rod that was bigger than the curtain. Also the controls were nowhere near the shower, and they were backward. They gave us a different room (smaller) but didn't lower the price because they said we had a complimentary upgrade. They did give us one night partking for fre (at $16 + tax) this was a savings. The breakfast was average and the hotel didn't have many services at night.

While it was generally good we don't think that it was a good as the reviews. The staff was generally friendly but primarily pushed the hotel trips when asked for advice. There are few services immediately near the hotel.
