We spent five nights at the Happy Garden B & B, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and quiet stay in the large self-contained accommodation. Malcolm proved to be an excellent, knowlegeable, and friendly host who served up first class breakfasts of high quality foods ordered the previous day from a very interesting and attractive menu. The bed was extremely comfortable, and most welcome after our long flight from England, and subsequent long days of sight-seeing. The Happy Garden may not be situated in the City centre, but gives travellers the opportunity to see the 'real' Vancouver. We had the added bonus of being there when the nearby Commercial Drive, 'Italian' area was closed off for a day whilst a huge 'Italy Day' event took place. Wandering through it was great fun, and we enjoyed a really yummy pizza meal afterwards at a nearby restaurant. We made good use of the public transport, trolley buses and sky trains, and would recommend the purchase of day passes which are good value for money. The Happy Garden B & B is situated in an old building, and is perhaps a little 'frayed at the edges', but it is hugely charming, and we would most certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and quiet venue away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. We would most definitley love to stay there again on a future visit. It was perfect for our purposes. Thank you Malcolm!
