This lovely suite has it all. The decor is inviting and quiet with all the comforts of home. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on! Parking was off-street. It is easy to find for the traveler from out of town and in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Vancouver, within walking distance of elegant shops, markets and restaurants.

For a weekend retreat to the city or a long term business trip, this has it all at an affordable price. Pam and Randy the owners, were easy to contact and were as helpful after we arrived, as they were when we made our arrangements online.

I came to town for 2 days, needing a quiet place to stay for my professional exams. It was a delight! Thanks Pam!

I have just returned home from staying at the Hycroft suites, and all I can say is I wish I was back there. Beautiful and luxurious self contained suites. Located in a beautiful neighborhood and extremely central and a walk to all the local shops. I stayed here while having my place painted and didn't want to leave. These suites are fully equipt with everything you could possibly need. They are quiet, have beautiful bathrooms and the most comfortable beds with luxurious linens. Pam and Randy were extremely hospitable and made me feel so comfortable and were willing to be available for anything I needed. This is truely my home away from home.

“My favourite!”

Hycroft Suites

Oct 9, 2007

This is my favourite place to stay in Vancouver. I travel to Vancouver regularly through the year for work and pleasure and my first call is always to the Hycroft.

It's like a home away from home. I've stayed in every suite or 'apartment' they offer and love each one. With private baths, separate bedrooms and personal living room areas, I love 'coming home' to the Hycroft.

The location is residential, just blocks away from the great restaurants and shopping of South Granville, and an easy, short ride to downtown Vancouver.

The hosts Pam and Randy know how to provide both a private and personalized experience at the same time. The suites are modern with little luxuries, including fridges, microwaves, TV's, and the most fabulous, comfortable beds and linens, among many other amenities.

Highly rated.

This Inn actually consists of several one bedroom apartments. The room was very nice on the garden level of a building. We had a living room with a small kitchen and a bed room.

The location is great. It is just off of South Granville, which has many of the finest restaurants, galleries and shops. Several of the top restaurants in Vancouver are a short walk from the Inn. There is very good bus service on Granville, so you can be downtown in minutes. There is a new subway line under construction a few blocks to the east, so in another year or so it will have even better transit access.

Did not have a car for most of the week and didn't miss it. We only rented a car to drive to Whistler. We did rent bikes, and that worked great too.

Instead of the typical B&B breakfast they provided a very nice basket of fruit, bread, milk juice, cereal and yogurt. It lasted us most of the week.

The biggest difference is that unlike most B&Bs you have no contact with other guests and little contact with the owners. They are available by phone and responded quickly, but are not resident there. This has both advantages and disadvantages. If you want your privacy and want to be able to come and go without worrying about others it is perfect. If you want conversations with other guests around the breakfast table, then this isn't the place.

We would certainly use Hycroft again. We had a week stay in Vancouver and it was like having our own place there.

“Convenient location”

Hycroft B & B is in a quiet residential road but only a few minutes walk from restaurants etc of Granville. Easy bus ride to Downtown ($2.50), although we actually walked there and caught the bus back.
This is really an apartment rather than a bed and breakfast, although a welcome food basket is provided. We stayed in the Madrid suite for four nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It was very clean and comfortable. The Madrid suite consisted of a bedroom, bathroom and large lounge with sofa, TV, dining table and kitchen area which was well equipped for self-catering. There was also off road parking. We liked the fact that we did not have to carry a door key while staying here as we were given an entry code to key in.
We liked the area very much and felt safe as we walked around in the evenings, deciding which restaurants to try! The Red Door on Granville and Bogarts on Broadway were good choices.
We would stay here again if visiting Vancouver.
