My stay was beyond wonderful. Besides the great room with its unique touches of a great mix of updated vintage and modern elements, the staff (Dennis) made my stay feel like home. The food and service were excellent thanks to Dennis and the chef. I was so excited to find freshly made brownies and cookies at my bedside at the end of every day.

Barclay House is set near down town Vancouver. Everything is in walking distance. Our stay at the Barclay house was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a hotel or bed and breakfast. The staff JJ. Dennis and Art couldn't have been more welcoming. The rooms have all the amenities you need and are spacious and comfortable (The Beach Room is our favourite). A delicious and generous cooked breakfast is provided, all homemade (and homemade cookies are provided in your room). This is the best place to stay in Vancouver and we have stayed there on at least 5 occasions.

We arrived with little notice having flown in standby. Last minute room search was no problem for JJ. Dennis and Art couldn't have been more welcoming and informative. Our room was beautifully appointed and the food was truly excellent. We've had the good fortune to travel extensively over the years and have stayed in some wonderful places. Barclay House is one of the best experiences we've had.

We stayed here for three nights on our recent trip to Canada. This definitely counts as an upmarket Bed & Breakfast place though without all the facilities (eg 24 hr reception, restaurant etc) of a hotel. The rooms have all the amenities you need and are spacious and comfortable. A delicious and generous cooked breakfast is provided, all homemade (and homemade cookies are provided in your room). It is very conveniently located in a residential area close to Stanley Park and Downtown. Dennis's welcome provides the icing on the cake. Very highly recommended.
