“Wonderful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

This boutique hotel is in the heart of Granville Island where you can visit galleries, unique craft shops and see artists, weavers, carvers and designers. There is a wonderful Public Market with food stalls and unique crafts. There is also the Arts Club theatre for live productions and restaurants with views of False Creek. The Aquabus will take you all around False Creek and its beautiful scenery. It is the home of Emily Carr University of the Arts.
The hotel staff are wonderful, accommodating, the rooms are well equipped with coffee/tea and a mini bar. All the lights have dimmers, there is a safe in the room and free Wi-Fi. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is far enough away to be very quiet at night. It has a wonderful restaurant- the Dockside where you can sit on the patio and enjoy just being there. There is also a health club and a jacuzzi within the hotel. I highly recommend a stay at the Granville Island Hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms have showers, if you want a bathtub you have to ask for it.

“Granville Island hotel is the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

The location is wonderful. The rooms are small but cosy. The sheets are lovely to sleep in. The market is right there for you to wander around in. You can take an Aqua Bus across to Yaletown and wander around.
What a wonderful place to spend a few days.

“Boutique Feel in the Heart of Granville Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

The hotel is uniquely situated on the east side of Granville Island, which is one of the major tourist attractions in Vancouver. Granville Island was an industrial area that was converted to tourism in the 1970's with a degree of success that has proved impossible to replicate in other parts of the city. It is now a collection of shops, restaurants, and marinas built around the hub of an amazing produce market.

The hotel is just at the edge of all this, on a relatively quite side of the small island. Its modest entrance gives a small boutique feel that hides the fact that there are more rooms that appears to be the case from the outside.

The staff is great and the rooms are top notch. The views are amazing of the city over the waterway known as False Creek. There are many beautiful yachts everywhere you look, including those moored right out front (unfortunately the slips are not available to hotel guests).

The only negative we encountered was that the hotel restaurant was OK but not great. Fortunately there are many others to choose from with a few minutes on foot all over the island. A spa would have been nice too, but there is a non-affiliated one very close by.

Room Tip: Take the 3rd floor with a water view.

Loved everything about the experience, location proximity to the market and short drive over the bridge to the city, excellent price, excellent amenities, beautiful water/city view, excellent restaurant and bar, friendly helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: north side water/city views are spectacular

“Granville Island bliss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012 via mobile

I have not stayed in the Granville Island hotel for a year or so. My stay this time was even better than before. The room was updated and upgraded, the lobby looks amazing, and the staff were friendly as usual. You cannot beat the location -fantastic restaurants within a short walk and the sea wall, for running or strolling, is right there. Overall - another excellent stay.
