“A wonderful long weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

My husband and I stayed 4 nights over the Labor Day weekend receiving Greg's gracious
hospitality. We were visiting our daughter and the Inn was a perfect location, just a block
from Stanley Park and a few blocks from bike rental shops. My husband announced the 3rd
morning of our stay that Greg's Eggs Benedict were the best he'd ever eaten! We enjoyed
our leisurely breakfasts with Greg and the other guests so much, that we typically weren't ready
to start our days until after 10. (This suited our daughter's sleeping in style.)

And our final evening, we invited our daughter and her partner in for a glass of port before dinner.
So lovely. This is yet another way in which Greg invites his guests to feel at home. Room 4 was quiet and comfortable. And it was especially nice of Greg to provide the sitting room of Room 5 where we
could relax with our ipads and books when we had the time.

We highly recommend the English Bay Inn. It was the next best thing to visiting family at home!
Thanks, Greg!!

I stayed here early last month for 4 nights. Hard to believe the hotel is so close to lively Denman Street and the beaches, it's just so quiet. Greg the manager is worth 2 stars alone, but not sure what kind of pressure he feels having to live up to all the positive comments on here. He even knows how to make proper English tea now! On the (slight) downside, my room (#2) looked onto the stairwell of the neighbouring building and felt a bit airless/dark, but that would only be an issue for someone spending a good part of the day in the hotel, and who would do that in Vancouver? Decoration in hotel takes a little getting used to and not for cool minimalists.

English Bay Inn is a super comfortable place to stay in the West End of Vancouver. Elegant tudor home with comfortable beds, great breakfasts, convenient location - close to beach and to Denman St. Greg, the host, super nice and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

We have stayed here multiple times and would not consider staying anywhere else when in Vancouver, its in a great location, walking distance to the beach, city centre and Stanley park. The host is genuine, friendly, extremely helpful and competent. Greg gives great advice and has great local knowledge.

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights here in May and very much enjoyed our stay. Greg the Manager was very attentive to our needs, no problems in making a booking over the phone, and co-ordinating our arrival time with him, the room was spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed, internet was good connection, the complimentary sherry and port was nice in the comfortable loungeroom, Greg was happy to provide us champagne glasses and access to the refrigerator for our bottle of bubbly, breakfasts were excellent and if you can't eat the side muffin Greg is happy to wrap it to go for you. Very helpful with information on what to do, where to eat.

Great location, only a street away from Stanley Park and English Bay, restaurants and shops, watch the sunset down at the beach, it's really nice. Walk into Vancouver around the sea wall, it's a nice walk.

And, they don't charge your credit card until you check out too, so ignore a previous post about this, the lady evidently got mixed up with a place of a similar name on the main road in English Bay!

Will recommend this B & B to friends travelling to Vancouver.

Greg, the manager went above the call of duty for us. The locationwas perfect for us. Just a ten minute cab ride from the train station, 2 blocks from English bay park and the seawall plus a block and a half from Stanley park. Greg's recommendation of dinner at the fish house was spot on.
