“Astonishing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Modest looking hotel which is made great as a result of the views from the rooms on higher floors. Spectracular views encompassing the snow covered mountains, huge passenger liners docking in the port and the city of Vancouver. Surrounded by bars and restaurants and a short stroll to the city centre and park, this is a great base hotel. Breakfast is a modest buffet style occassion and we did not stay for dinner, however the views make up for any deficiencies with the food.

Room Tip: The higher the better and facing the front of the hotel.

“Pleasant hotel in downtown Vancouver”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

I stayed here on a trip with friends for which someone else selected the hotel. I did not take photos but can tell you that the photo's depicted here over represent the exterior of the hotel. The interior is fine and relatively clean and new -- but has an end to end feel as having been decorated by the same people who decorated all the Air Canada lounges. Clean but institutional. Wisely with tile at the entrance to avoid wear and tear over the years. There are other hotels in the down town area which are far more attractive. However I would agree with one reviewer that if you plan to venture into Gastown it is certainly a place from which to launch without staying in the less pleasant section. This alone would not be sufficient for me to stay here again. I'd walk the couple of extra blocks from a hotel with nicer look and feel

“Solid hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

You are probably unlikely to spend your wedding night here, but a good clean hotel in an excellent location for investigating Vancouver, restaurants and shopping. Jump at it for a good price. Recommend.

“Great Business Travel Option and Great for Exploring Gastown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

The Delta is a lovely hotel right in the heart of the Vancouver business area, and perfect for exploring Gastown without having to stay in the seedier area itself. There are loads of shops and inexpensive (and expensive) restaurants in the area. The bed was extremely comfortable (I got lost in the pillows!) and the room is clean. I particularly enjoyed the large well-kitted out bathroom. The Skytrain Waterfront Station is within walking distance, and the Hastings St address is convenient as the buses you want to take anywhere in the city are right at the hotel's doorstep.

“Vancouver the easy way for first time visitors..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Hotel was great. Clean and spacious rooms for a decent price. Vancouver is expensive anyway so something this nice under $175 US was beneficial. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. Access by train from the airport was so simple to Waterfront Station. The hotel was literally two blocks from the station, so whether you arrive early or late you don't need to worry about this aspect of your trip. Train tickets were about $8.50 per person. Much cheaper than a taxi.

The staff really went out of their way to help us with things to do, areas to visit, and restaurant ideas. We were here for three days and that was plenty of time to see what we wanted to see. We are HUGE FOODIES and Vancouver has its share of choices. Use Yelp when you are here as we found some gems that were so close to our hotel (walking distance close). Definitely try Medina Cafe and Scoozis for breakfast.

I recommend you visit Granville Island (think Pike's Market in Seattle, only bigger and nicer. Chinatown is a waste of time. There is nothing there except run-down shops and LOTS of drugs and hookers. Pretty scary so stay away unless you want to see a dark side of Vancouver. Granville Street after dark was fun and had a cool vibe going. Lots of venues for concerts and late-night food ops. If you enjoy shawarma or donner kebabs there are places everywhere. Lots of pizza joints as well.

All-in-all a beautiful city. Definitely worth a visit, but somewhat expensive. We had three days a beautiful sunshine so we were lucky.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your most recent visit to Vancouver. I am delighted to hear that the staff was able to assist you in making recommendations during your stay. Granville Island is a definite must see if you have not been to Vancouver before, there are also lots of nice stores in Gastown you have the new restaurants and the art galleries within walking distance of the hotel. When it comes to food Vancouver locals are really enjoying the food trucks we have in the city is sure to stop by one next time you in Vancouver.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Delta Vancouver Suites next time you are visiting!
