Stayed overnight at the Marriott PInnacle in Vancouver after an Alaskan cruise. It was very quick and easy to walk to the hotel from the cruise terminal, which avoided us having to wait in a long line for a bus or taxi. The hotel's location is great - very close to everything you'd want to see in Vancouver: Stanley Park, the harbor, Gastown, etc. We walked everywhere, although the hop-on-hop-off trolley is wonderful and easy to use as well. The hotel was spotless, the bellhop greeted us immediately and our bags were whisked off straight away. Even though we arrived at 11 am, our room was ready and waiting for us, which was a real treat as we'd expected to have to wait until the afternoon for a room. The room seemed to have been recently refurbished, everything was new and in great condition. We had a glimpse of the harbor from the room, and although it was only on the eighth floor, it was quiet with little or no road noise. It may be noisier on a weeknight, as the surrounding offices and businesses were all closed for the weekend. The bathroom was huge, with a tub and separate shower - a bonus for a family of four sharing a room. The beds were very comfortable. The only drawback was the very noisy air conditioning, which cut on and off with a sound like thunder, waking us up every time. My daughter used the gym, which she said was very good. We left the room at 4 am for our flight, and a taxi was ready and waiting for us as soon as we got out of the elevator. (By the way, if you haven't come across this before - you have to use your room key to operate the elevator. We would probably still be stuck in the elevator if another guest hadn't showed us what to do ...) The Marriott is a generic hotel of its kind, catering to the business traveller, but it met our expectations and needs very well.
