Awesome new Marriott right across the street of the Harbour with fantastic views! We were on the 31st floor, and it was great to get up every morning and peek out the large wraparound windows.
A few notes: if you are parking a car, you may as well do valet for only a few more dollars because the self parking is confusing in how they charge (it rolls over to hourly charges after a certain amount of time), plus the lot is underneath and hard to get in and out of. While we didn't use the pool or fitness club, we did take a peek and it looked fantastic! There is a vending machine in there if you don't feel like getting something from the restaurant or walking outside. The location is awesome, very easy to find and right in the heart of the city. The front desk and concierge were very knowledgeable about where to go and what to see. The bellman provided excellent service and walked over luggage from two rooms to Renaissance across the street as we had to continue our stay there. One of the best Marriott's I have ever stayed in!
I stayed at the Marriott in the heart of downtown Vancouver for 5 nights and had a very pleasant stay. What sets this particular Marriott apart from other top quality hotels is the extra effort by the front desk staff to make their guests feel special and appreciated.
My stay was jointly for business and pleasure and the front desk staff assisted in numerous ways whenever I needed help by sending faxes or offering tips to great restaurants in the area. Upon entering the lobby, I was regularly greeted by my proper name which was really a nice touch that I appreciated. This type of service is uncommon in most hotels in this day and age.
The room was very comfortable and as always, Marriott supplied an outstanding bed.
The valet parking team always had my vehicle ready on time and assisted loading my snowboard equipment in the car whenever I left for the slopes. All in all, I would highly suggest this hotel when staying in Vancouver.
I really don’t think this property was as great as the reviews.
I have stayed at several Vancouver hotels and several excellent Marriott’s this is not one of the best.
Several things were not what they should have been;
·The assigned room had a bad TV it was fixed promptly but only partially. It really was a poor TV for the expected quality of the room.
·The shower could have been cleaned a little better, a little rough for a newer hotel.
·The noise from adjacent rooms was substantial when people arrived and departed.
·You will have to pay for parking at this hotel there just isn’t any street parking in this part of Vancouver.
·You will also have to pay for Internet use. To many hotels just include this service to be charged $18 a day
·I also don’t think the location is as good as other hotels. Major shopping is four blocks.
·If you want a restaurant selection, you will also need to walk a good four blocks.
On the good front, the staff were all very friendly
There are many nicer hotels at the same price range to come running back to this one soon.
Try the Waterfront, Pan Pacific or Four Seasons for much better value.
I stayed at this property with my wife for five nights in November. I was expecting the typical Marriott business hotel... but we got a better than expected hotel that we would choose again for our next stay in Vancouver.
The hotel is fairly well located for most of the Vancouver attractions (both business an pleasure). I walked to the convention center each morning and my wife walked or biked to most of the main Vancouver attractions.
The staff were very friendly... Here's a tip... get your dinner recommendations from the doorman...
