“A home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I stay here regularly when I am in town on business. This is an all suites hotel. My co workers and I refer to this place as "the condo". Many of the suites have modern leather furniture. As many others have said, these a like apartments. Full kitchens, Keureg coffee machines, living rooms and separate bed and bath. When I travel with another coworker, there are two bedroom options that are comfortable and bring the per person cost way down. You can't beat the location of this hotel. There are great places to eat in the neighbourhood. The urban fare grocery is right across the street and serves complete meals and traditional groceries for those nights that you want to eat in. The parking and security at the Carmana are also top notch and very safe!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with a balcony

This is a perfect place whether you are there for shopping or business. Right next to Robson street (main shopping area) and a short walk from other attractions as well as the hop and ride tours. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. They make you feel perfectly at home. Apartments are clean, well laid out, and have all necessary amenities. You get a living area, TV, Kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle. Perfect if you are staying with family for a longer period of time.

It's a little bit on the expensive side but well worth every penny.

This hotel is right near Robson street the main shopping area.
The rooms are actually suites so you'd have a living room with a room attached to it. There's also a kitchenette and a small seating area as well.
The location is outstanding and hence its a bit more on the expensive side.
There are no in-house dining options either but plenty of options nearby including a Tim Hortons.
The hotel has free wifi. There is construction next door but it was off when I was there so not sure how disturbing it might be.

Room Tip: Try getting a room on the higher floors.

What a good decision this was!!! Right in the middle of downtown, one block from Robson, Skytrain, excellent restaurants!! I stayed for 3 nights, my suite was on the 12th floor. It was very modern and clean. The matress and pillows on my queen bed where wonderful. A littel Keurig Coffee maker kept me going in the mornings...I never did use the fully equipped kitchen, what with Urban Fair across the street.....!
The exercise room was not that big, but had everything for a great workout. Quality machines and clean. All the staff I encountered was friendly, extrememly helpful and polite. The contruction site next to the Plaza did NOT interfere with the enjoyment of my stay. (I was a little nervous about that when I first booked, but there was no need for that) I recommend Carmana Plaza and I will definately stay there again.

This is my second time at this gorgeous city. Three years ago we stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel and we liked it a lot. That time we stayed only three nights so, price was not a big concern because we were staying for a short period.
This time, we would stay longer (when we arrived we thought about one week). Searching Tripadvisor I read the excellent reviews about Carmana Plaza and we booked it.
What a great decision we made! The hotel is like an apartment, with living room, dinning room, bedroom, kitchen (with all basic utensils) , large bathroom and a storage space (excellent to store your luggage so the apartment looks even prettier!)
The views of our suite were astonishing, we could see Robson Street and even a part of the sea!
There is free (and fast) Internet. Cable tv is excellent, with plenty of choices!
The staff of this hotel is the best staff we had encountered in our trips around the world! Everyone is always greeting with with a smile, they do every effort to you feel good, happy and comfortable.
I had to scan and print some documents and they did it for me, in a few minutes and with a smile. Everyone is friendly in this hotel. It is very well administrated!
The result is....instead of staying one week at this great hotel, we stayed the whole month!! We will miss this place a lot! Vancouver is an AMAZING city and Carmana Plaza is EXCELLENT. The result? You never want to leave!!!
Location can't be better: one block from the best part of Robson Street, where the best shops are located. The designer shops are all around the corner.
The best (and fanciest) supermarket in town (Urban Fare) is just across the street. You can buy excellent fruits, teas, biscuits and desserts there.
The best restaurants are around the block.
There is a laundry room at the third floor with dozens of washer and dryers, all brandy new.
From this hotel you go anywhere by foot. Everything is close ! Stanley Park, Canada Place, English Bay, BC Stadium, cinema, theatre, banks all around...
I highly recommend this place if you want to have a very comfortable room, excellent location, excellent prices for what is offered and the best staff we have encountered anywhere in the world!

What a wonderful surprise this hotel was! Definitely a must in Vancouver. Re-furbished spacious rooms with all the necessary amenities. Living room, bath, dining room, and a fully stocked kitchen. The service is outstanding...about time in Vancouver! Located in a newly 'renovated' part of Vancouver on Alberni street, you are right across the street from Urban Fare market and only 1 block off of Robson, this locale provides you with an amazing walkable experience us Vancouverites crave. Pro: doorman service is super friendly Con: no in house lounge or restaurant (really, this should not be a deal breaker given is amazing location to some of Vancouver's best eats)

Room Tip: Higher rooms provide a wonderful view of the Lions. Parking may be a challenge if you are driving, b...

The staff of the Carmana were very professional, easy to approach when assistance was required, provided good many extra services, the location is central to all of the amenties that Vancouver has and is within easy access to the Sky Train and buss services, the rooms were clean, quiet and well decorated for either business or pleasure stays.
