We booked the Sheraton because of its convenient location and a decent rate. The poor sound proofing made the stay less enjoyable. You can hear your neighbor's conversations (and screaming children), and the elevators keep you awake.

The good:
- Floor to celiing windows with great views of city.
- Convenient location
- Plenty of free on-street parking available around the block.
- Starbucks available downstairs
- Very friendly bar staff.
- Pretty spacious rooms with up-to-date furniture and carpets.

The bad:
- Check in and room may be in 2 different towers.
- No free Wifi - unacceptable at this day and age.
- Poor sound proofing between rooms. You can hear everything.
- The bar atmosphere is rather sad. You feel like in a mall, right next to escalators.

The ugly:
- Kids (age 5-10?) screaming next door around midnight. Had to call front desk to get them to shut up. As a parent, I understand kids don't always behave, but that was anarchy behind a very poorly sound proofed wall with connecting door.
- The "ding" sound from the elevator kept us awake all night.

In summary - it is a rather average hotel, especially considering (or maybe because) it's a Sheraton. While the room itself is nice, it is very noisy. Bring your ear plugs. And while you are at it, bring your binoculars and satisfy the voyeur in yourself by peeping into the stylish condos next door.

  • Liked — location & views
  • Disliked — thin walls/doors. Very noisy. Disappointing / non-existent hotel bar flair.

I've just gotten back from Vancouver and if I were to go back, I would stay at the Sheraton again. I checked in early but they found a room for me with no problem. The front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and greeted me with a smile every time.

I was happy with the size and the furnishing of my room. It came with a flat screen tv which is starting to become pretty standard at the better hotels. I thought the bed was very comfortable although I found that the pillows were all either too thick or too thin.

The hotel's location is fairly good. It is about a 15 minute walk to the waterfront and about 30 minutes to get to Granville Island. Of course there are plenty of taxis and buses available if you don't want to walk.

If you plan to use the health club, you may want to get a room in the north tower since a journey from the south tower is a bit long. They have a business centre but you have to see the front desk to be able to get access to it.

If I was coming back to Vancouver, I would be happy to stay here again.

Loved it! It's a great place to stay for shopping on robson, or riding the skytrain which takes you just about anywhere in Vancouver. There is also a movie theatre and marketplace down the street. Everything was close, and not a far walk at all. I stayed here for a nkotb concert, and will return and be the only place I stay in Vancouver. We had a great view of the ocean and Mts. the room was comfy. We stayed in the south tower, with double beds. We had buffet breakfast the morning we left and it was excellent! There is a children's hospital next door that had its official christmas lighting and we lucked out and was able to see it from the room! The room was clean, warm, the beds were comfy and it wasnt expensive! I cant wait for the summer tour of nkotb to stay here again!

I wouldn't give this Hotel a three-star rating, I'd give it more, if it wasn't a Sheraton. But as a Sheraton, this place is just OK, nothing special. The gym was hard to find; the business centre was hard to find; there is a lot of walking from one tower to the other. All these things are an inconvenience. The rooms are very small, and it's no excuse saying that this is Vancouver - there are a lot of Hotels in Vancouver with larger rooms. But the Hotel is clean and well kept, and everything works fine. I hate it when I go to a Hotel and the TV remote is missing, or the alarm clock has the wrong time, or the bathroom grouting is old and moldy. None of these types of things were a problem. I would not expect anything less from a Sheraton (and the price I pay here for a room).

My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton twice during a stay to Vancouver. The first visit consisted of 3 nights, and we were placed on the 12th floor of the North Tower. The floor-to-ceiling windows were nice, as was the bed, but the room was way too cramped for two people over 4 days/3 nights. We didn't have enough room in the closet for our coats and clothes (that dresser is TINY!), and we felt like we kept bumping into each other or the walls throughout our visit. The check-in person insisted that this was "one of our nicest rooms," but while it's modern, the space issue didn't make it too nice for us in the long run. On our return trip from Vancouver Island, we were placed in the South Tower up in the 20s. We had a great view, but also could hear the sirens from the hospital across the street at all hours. The room itself was easily twice the size of our first room, but it was much older in style and decor. Still, the space made us feel a little more restful before returning home.

We had issues with the concierge. First, we asked for a nice Italian restaurant recommendation for dinner, and our only caveat was that it be vegetarian friendly. The concierge looked at me, and she said, "Well, there's really only one inexpensive place. The rest are all fine dining." Now, we had no preference of where the restaurant was. We were happy to take a bus, a cab, etc. But there's only ONE that she'd assume is acceptable for us? I was even more perturbed that she assumed we wanted something inexpensive. It's not like we're staying at the Best Western! So she sent us to Lombardo's, just a block away, and we had the worst experience. Hard pasta, soggy pizza, and pretty much a poor night overall. On our 4th day, we had rented a car to go to Vancouver Island. We carted our two large suitcases down to the concierge's station (we were directed by the North Tower front desk staff that we had to go to the South Tower for this) and asked for assistance calling Budget because they offer a free shuttle for pick-up and delivery (I even confirmed this by calling them the week before). Sadly enough, it was the same concierge: female, mid-40s, curly reddish hair, and a perpetual frown. She said curtly, "Well. I don't think they offer that service." Um, no. My web confirmation says they do. And I called and they confirmed it! She agreed to call, did so, acted snotty to the Budget person, hung up, and said, "They don't." Yeah. Ok. What do we do? She said we could keep the receipt and Budget would reimburse us. Sounds easy, and it was, but she could have been nicer about it. A smile and a little warmth really go a long way.

Lastly, don't order food via room service. It's way overpriced and bland. The bar area is pretty much nonexistent.

The Sheraton's big plus is location: not too far from all the hubbub of Robson, and also an easy walk/cab/bus to Kitsilano and even the West End. But unless I had to stay at the Sheraton Wall Centre again, I wouldn't. There are just much better options.
