“The best deal in Vancouver, BC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

What a nice place to stay. The suites are like small apartments. There is plenty of room. We enjoyed having a living room, dining area and complete kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. The only drawback was the bathroom was a bit small. Not all suites are alike. We would definitely return to this Inn.

Anything I say will just add to the glowing reviews already posted!
First time in Vancouver, good place to stop, friendly staff (although someone on reception needs to improve his "English" accent!!), location is pretty good, easy to walk to ferry for Granville Island, and buses to go elsewhere in town.
Was at the rear of the hotel had no problem with noise as reported elsewhere.
YMMV with that one though.
Recommended. Would definitely stay again. (Really want to go to Vancouver again!!)

Post-cruise great place to stay. 4 couples. I ask for the one bedroom suite with a fold out couch in the living room. it was great for two couples. The other two couples got a smaller room, We were given a great room with a balcony overlooking (somewhat) the water. It worked as a gathering spot for all eight of us to gather for our final supper together. We went to our favorite spot on Davies, picked up what we wanted and took it back to the hotel. They were nice enough to allow us to store our bags, while we went sightseeing. We used Hertz Car rental which allowed drop off at the train station. Wonderful beautiful country Canada.

Room Tip: Nice bigger suite to accomodate group!

I definitely recommend staying here and it does make you feel at home. A plus is free wifi :D We stayed at the hotel on May 14-17 and we loved the service provided. It was our first time ever in Vancouver and the concierge gave us great recommendations of where to go. The location is in the middle of great attractions and we didn't even have to pay for a cab until our departure of the airport. :]

We stayed at the sunset inn for 3 days middle of may with my wife an 2 kids ages 1 and 3. We found the room to be good size and the kitchen was great, the included breakfast was also good. We would defiantly stay here again if we come back to vancouver

There was nothing we did not like about this hotel. The staff were amazingly friendly and provided a neighbourly feel to the hotel. Location was excellent. It lay slightly outside the busier downtown core in a more residential neighbourhood, we could walk five minutes to the beach and the sea wall that runs around Vancouver, five minutes to grocery and drugstore, 15 minutes to the Art Gallery and downtown shopping, 25 minutes to Vancouver harbour and the ferry to North Vancouver and the bus to Grouse mountain. There were also innumerable local coffee shops and excellent small ethnic restaurants within a 10 minute walking radius, and a large public market with salmon, salmon, salmon a short walk and ferry ride away. Complimentary breakfast provided us with our energy for the day. Complimentary newspaper [Globe and Mail] got our brains working early!

Room Tip: book early and out of season for good rates

I looked for months to find a hotel that would fit my needs, and in the end the Sunset Inn was the PERFECT place. It is not in the usual cluster of hotels you will find down town, but it is 5 mins from everything you would need. 5 mins from English Bay, around the corner from plenty of shops and restaurants on Davie Street, even a 24 hr Denny’s right next door. There are plenty of transit options and also there is a stop for the Hop-On-Hop-Off tour right at the corner.

The service at the hotel was above and beyond what I would expect. Michael at the Front desk always had great advice on things to do, places to see, and the best way to get there. The rooms are spacious and nicely renovated. What you see in the photos is what you get. The Kitchens were fully equipped and well stocked what everything you would need (minus the actual food). The beds were very comfortable and made coming home something to look forward to.

Note that Sunset offers a continental breakfast. It is nothing luxurious but you get juices, cereal, bagels, coffee and fruit. It is enough to start your day.

I really can’t say enough about this place, accept that when I am back in Vancouver.... and I will be back, This is where I will stay.

Room Tip: The earlier you book, the better the rate.
