“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Front desk staff cordial, laid back, and nice. Rooms were clean and average. Great views for harbor view rooms. Rooms ending 41 are larger.

Parking across street is expensive. Parking garage is dark and creepy. Garage employees do not work for hotel. Man working garage exit was a horses patunia.

Hotel is very close to cruise terminal. Godzilla movie was being filmed next to hotel.

Booked a harbour view room for our 5 night stay in Vancouver. The room was spotless, the bed was the most comfortable I had slept in in a hotel, the maid service fantastic, the front office staff extremely helpful and the porter/doorman was a font of information. We didn't eat in the hotel as it is quite expensive but there are loads of places to eat close by. Come out of the hotel and turn right and it Takes you to a good supermarket with lovely fresh fruit and a cafe that does a great breakfast, try the pancakes, they were delicious! Explore the nearby streets as well as Gas Town for places to eat. Stanley Park is beautiful and Grouse Mountain well worth a visit.

Hotel very well appointed. Staff uniformly helpful and friendly. Views from room spectacular. Didn't sample food apart from breakfast, which was also good.

So what wasn't quite perfect? The club lounge had moved to the ground floor because the top floor space was not big enough. Practical for sure but the room felt more like a converted function room than a lounge, which I guess is what it was!

A tiny negative in an otherwise great experience.

We were delightfully surprised at the stunning view from our very spaciousness room. Most reviewers recommend staying on the higher floors - we however were happier on the 6th floor - room 633. It is situated with a direct view of the harbor, Grousse Mountain and Stanley Park. The sunrises were stunning as we watched ships, barges and seaplanes and other water activities begin the day.
The hotel is centrally located which we found very convenient. The staff were delightful and very helpful - making our visit such a great memory. We highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Harborside is a must as well as a room on the middle of the floor.

Stayed here for a wedding weekend, great service, clean hotel, food good. One downside was we have an SUV that was too high for the hotel's underground car park. There is underground parking just across the street so not too much hassle. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was yummy but wireless in room was expensive. Noisy guests coming in at four a.m was a bit of a pain.

Room Tip: We had a king room with a harbour view which was very pleasant.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Arrived at 2pm and the room wasn't ready, though we got a free "upgrade" to a harbour view. If I had paid more for the view, I would have been disappointed since half the view was staring at other buildings or the Chevron station in the water, but it was nice for free. No fridge in the room but were able to call and get one for free. Had room service for dinner which was surprisingly good (some asian style chicken burger with fries, housemade chips, and a chicken salad). Filled out the breakfast card to hang on my door before midnight (deadline is 3am), and the next morning when breakfast didn't arrive on time, I was disappointed to find that they never took the card nor the dinner cart from the night before. Upon calling, they filled my order within 20 minutes. The guy asked what time I put out the card and then said he was disappointed but never apologized. Internet is quite expensive and very annoying since I had to put in my passcode or re-register almost every time I opened a new internet window or browser.

Pros: Fairly quiet, decent location (~ 5 blocks from convention center, a mile from Stanley Park, and ~ 3 blocks from the 2012 world's best gelato - Bella Gelateria), great hotel food (among the best fries I've ever had) at decent prices, Aveda toiletries, clean room, pool and hot tub, fair amount of mat/stretching area in gym.
Cons: Expensive and spotty internet, fair to poor service, no where to hang towels!, rate went up $60 from weekday to weekend, outdated gym equipment.

Overall, solid location and just from the lobby and restaurant/bar seemed nicer than the Marriott Pinnacle (across the street), but just don't be too reliant on the extras.
