“Upscale in the heart of Vancouver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

Clean, modern upscale rooms. Pleasant professional staff. Excellent location for walking to Sunset Beach, Robson St shopping, the harbor front/ convention centre and Gastown.

I booked a balcony king room. The balcony is huge. A patio table and chairs would have been a nice touch. There was lots of street noise however it was well muffled and wasn't overly distracting.

Room Tip: The balcony is large and quite secluded. It's worth the upgrade if you like to sit outside.

A group of girls and I stayed at the hotel and found it to be mediocre. The beds seemed rather small, the walls were paper thin, housekeeping was knocking on the door by 830 and the interet was priced sky-high. I was surprised to find that the wifi wasn't free. Especially considering we just did Europe where free wifi was abundant. Not that this hotel was horrible, but with all the options in Vancouver i probably wouldn't be returning to this one.

the Hyatt dowtown is centrally located, close walk to Gastown or Robson...
Rooms are nice, ask for higher up rooms on the even numbered room side..
I enjoyed the room as it had navy/ blackout curtains and wrap around curtain rods that cover well over the windows...makes for a better nights sleep..
I didn't enjoy paying $15 for wi-fi as it should be included in top notch hotels...and Valet parking for $48 which I think is a little steep- even in downtown Vancouver
Overall good location, good room, pricy on extras..

My wife and I stayed here for three nights at the end of July. We were celebrating our 30 year anniversary and my birthday. The location was perfect, right next to the sky train station which worked was great since we came in on Amtrak and this made it very convenient. The hotel is close to everything, Canada Place, Gastown, Chinatown and Robson St. all within easy walking distance. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They upgraded us to a balcony room which was very nice. They sent up chocolate cake and a chocolate covered strawberry for my birthday. Special thanks to Rey (the bellman) for all that he did. Would love to go back to Vancouver some day and will definitely stay at the Hyatt.

Nice large, modern rooms - we had a big balcony looking down Burrard St to the inlet and north shore mountains behind. Stayed for our anniversary, the front desk clerk who checked us in had a handwritten card and special gift sent up for us the first night we were there. All the other staff we interacted with were great including in the restaurant where we were blown away by the special dessert we were presented!

I loved the decor of the room and they were able to fulfill our request of being on a high floor. It was a our anniversary so we really appreciated that! The bathroom and room were spacious. The front desk staff was helpful and were able to help us with any questions we had. We will be back for sure :)

Nobody likes feeling nickel and dimed, but that's how I felt after a stay in the Hyatt Regency. Our 15th floor room had stunning views, the bed was comfortable, and the stone-tiled shower was sublime. But really? $15 for 24 hours of internet access? Why on earth does a four star hotel, which charges hundreds per room per night, charge for something as basic as wifi access? I understand a parking fee, but when it comes to internet, that should be standard. The starbucks in the lobby had free wireless, though it was somewhat spotty. To be fair, the rest of our stay was just fine. Check-in and check-out were simple, the location was unbeatable, and the staff we encountered were cordial. But come on, Hyatt, please include free wireless - is that too much to ask?
