“Easily a 5 star stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

All rooms are corner rooms and they all have a balcony. Rooms are roomy and very, very nice. Right on Robson St, so close to everything really. Just a short walk to Stanley Park and lots of shopping and restaurants on Robson. All staff were wonderful, including the barista and servers at Abode the brand new restaurant in the lobby. Good coffee and choice of pastries and other breakfast goodies.

Blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver, B.C.

This has to be the best value in Vancouver. A very well-built, attractive, clean, tall hotel in the middle of Robson Street that is the middle of town. It is constantly up-dated with new windows (lots of them) a new lobby and a new restaurant. Surrounded by innumerable eateries. Good sushi and sashimi across the street, a 24/7 coffee shop with delicious baked goods (Beka) around the corner (Bute St.) and the government liquor store around another corner. Be aware of specific liquor store locations and their limited opening times in Canada. A monopolistic oddity of the first order—not known to any foreigners. Prepare yourself for double your prices.

Very generously laid-out rooms in the hotel, at least in the De-Lux version. Spring a few Loonies (Canadian dollars) to get one of those on the upper floors. They are so impressive, especially when you walk in on a sunny day with all those windows looking everywhere. It’s almost overwhelming. Exceptionally well-run with an outstanding staff. Our room-maid, Loretta Huang, remembers us after five visits (over ten years as she said.) She even remembers what room we had stayed in at the last visit. Whoa. And then there’s the reservation lady, Dee Montero, who has been there just as long, and is always a pleasure making reservations a long time in advance. We nominated them and a few others to the Vancouver Tourism Awards, rewarding service excellence.

The place needs a second chair, at least in a room with two beds or preferably a small couch with a coffee table in front, so that two travel companions can sit together with a glass of wine. The lovely ambiance in those rooms leads you naturally to that wish. Well, even missing out on that, you’ll sleep heavenly under their down comforters.

We look forward to another enjoyable visit to that place.

Room Tip: Get a high-up 06. Best view over Robson St. and English Bay, the harbor.

Well located hotel situated close to plenty of restaurants. City bus pulls up close by and there is also a hop on hop off bus stop nearby. I used the pink hop on bus service and they delivered my luggage directly to the hotel from the cruise terminal and I was able to spend the rest of the day touring beautiful Vancouver. The quick shuttle to Seattle also picks up here and about 5 hours later I was dropped off at Seatac. As I travel by myself having access to all these services from the one location made life so much easier.

we spent 3 nights. The hotel is centrally located so we could head out in any direction and find something great to do.

There was parking on site, the housekeeping staff was very efficient. The staff at the front desk was also very efficient, and friendly.

Once the last bit of renos are done, this will not only be a comfortable place to stay, but it will be lovely too look at. Cannot wait until next time.

Room Tip: ask for higher up, with a view of the ocean

Great location with plenty of shops and restaurants right on Robson Street. Hotel should be much better once construction is completed. We spent a little more to get a room in the upper floors (28th) facing west. It gave us fabulous bay and sunset views. The room had two comfortable queen beds and was quite spacious with a small walkout balcony. The only disappointment is the 70's model HVAC in the room that was so loud when running that it was like sleeping next to the wing on a jet. Ended up shutting it off in the end.

This hotel was wonderful, excellent welcome, large family room and amazing views over English Bay especially the sunsets. Had an excellent stay to start our trip to Canada. The central location gave access by foot to Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown and the amazing harbour area. Go for a plane ride, visit Grouse Mountain, see the wonderful Market. Would go again anytime.

Room Tip: Go for a room on a high floor asthe views are better up there

This hotel located on Robson Street, was a perfect choice!! The area was great - busy, lots of shopping, good Coffee shops, but not to be forgotten, was the Hotel. We were on the 24th floor - the view was absolutely beautiful!! The Bay, Stanley Park, the ocean, and all the high rise buildings, mostly Condos, and of course the Mountains. All of these things were our view from our balcony!! Breathtaking!! If staying there, be sure to ask for higher floors - lower floors will be looking into the condo dwellers next door! It is a lovely hotel. The rooms are large. They were undergoing construction while we were there, but supposedly finished for May 1st. It will have a new restaurant, a bar, front entrance, and should be gorgeous!! A great place to stay!!

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better!! The views are stunning, and no traffic noise!!
