Location was ok, but with downtown comes a little of the dodginess eg questionable characters hanging out on street corners day & night. Not as close to shopping & restaurant areas as I would have liked. Also sky train is such a great way to get around this city but the nearest stop is a few blocks away.

We were here as part of a group of 9 people & 2 babies booking 5 rooms for between 2-4 nights each. We worked out that this hotel has a significant heating problem. 2 rooms moved to try & resolve, but in short, the heating blows warm air, then alternates blowing cold air. Makes it extremely uncomfortable to sleep through the night & maintain consistent temperature. Several calls & discussions with maintenance didn't seem to resolve the issue. But 1 of the rooms appeared to have a brand new unit & they had no issues. Rooms which had questionable units 504, 404, 412 & can't remember the other numbers. The beds are comfortable but I am rating sleep quality & rooms as poor as we all woke several times during the night trying to deal with temperature issues.

It should be noted that staff were always very professional, helpful & polite. (but I'd also find it difficult to find many Canadians in the service industry who aren't great! Makes travelling here so easy!). Room 902 was very small especially when a pack & play was required here.

Another significant positive was the rooms were very clean - esp the bathrooms!

We were looking for something central and convenient to all tourist sites and transport whilst on a family trip with kids aged 11 and 14 around North America. With its helpful, friendly staff, large clean rooms and great inhouse amenities (swimming pool, gym, laundry and restaurant). Once we sorted out our booking confusion (I will never use Expedia again !) everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations.

After Seattle, Vancouver was our scheduled 3 night stop for New Year so decided to book this accommodation early. Booked because Expedia offered an inhouse complimentary New Years Eve party and we weren't keen to take our kids out on the streets in a strange city on New Years eve. When I contacted the hotel to check if children were allowed to attend the party they knew nothing about it it was and Expedia mistake and when I contacted Expedia they wanted to know nothing about a cancellation as we had booked on a special non - refundable rate and they were not interested. The hotel (Luke and Coco) on the other hand were most helpful (even though this was no fault of their own) and offered to refund directly but we decided to keep our booking as we were offered a complimentary breakfast as compensation and prices at other similar rated establishments in the area had risen due to demand. We were originally scheduled to arrive in Vancouver via Amtrak - Cascades (another reason for choosing this hotel location) but we ended up keeping our hire car from Seattle and driving across the border the hotel was most helpful in assisting with parking.

Highly recommend this establishment, book direct or the Best Western site.

We recently stayed for 3 nights at this downtown property. We chose it for it's location, indoor parking, and overall good "vibes" from our many previous visits over the last 10 years.
We came away with this:
The staff is efficient and courteous, the foyer and reception area are inviting and spotless, and the elevators are secured by door "keys" and clean.
Our room was "airy", clean, and fresh, as was the bathroom. Hot water was "instant" and with healthy pressure. Heating and A/C were efficient and non-intrusive.
Breakfast in the on-site "White Spot" restaurant was well prepared and served promptly, and with a smile.
Would we go back? YOU BETCHA

From the moment we arrived for a two night stay until the last day, we had a wonderful time. We especially appreciated the care and attention for our dog. He loved his ammenities! The hotel is absolutely spotless and service terrific. We attended two concerts, went to the dog parks, and enjoyed the White Spot food and service. We always felt it was a hassle coming from Victoria and finding a great, reasonably priced hotel and very good dog accomodation. Best Western Plus has solved our problem. Thanks to all of the staff.
