Don't be taken in by the photos of Domain that depict it as bright and airy. In fact, it's a basement apartment--dark, cramped and constricted by low ceilings. The decor is bright and rather stylish--a solid B--but little else pleases (beds are good, though). The so-called "master bedroom" is too small for a dresser or nightstand and the attached bathroom is the snuggest we've encountered short of a cruise ship.
The property was subject to some neglect also. The entrance from the rear alley parking space (where our van's windshield was cracked overnight!) was strewn with trash throughout our stay. Depressing. The motion sensing light at the entrance door had been unplugged, making for a dark, precarious entry our first night.
The Commercial Drive neighborhood is decent. Good eateries and ethnic/bohemian flavor, but it's on the eastern edge of the city and not within walking distance of other attractions. And the house sits at the intersection of two very busy streets. Lots of noise and bustle preventing windows from being opened and adding to the feeling of constriction.
We've never visited Vancouver before, so we have no basis of comparison. But from our first glimpse to our last, three days later, we were disappointed. For $290 per day there's got to be something better.
