“Choice Hotel in Vancouver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Booked this Hotel for a 4 night stay before a tour and cruise. Fabulous hotel, great staff, wonderful location.
We found the St Regis easy to access via the Skytrain directly from the airport. Vancouver is a walkable city, and this hotel is well located to most attractions.
Our room was very comfortable, clean and sufficiently spacious. Beautiful bathroom with a great shower. We appreciated the coffee machine and complimentary bottled water. Free in room Wi-Fi and phone calls were bonuses. The lift was small, but not a problem.
A very nice breakfast served in the basement dining area was included in the tariff.
Could not fault this hotel - you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on a high floor - windows with views in both directions and less street noise.

My husband and were I were pleasantly surprised with how good our room was. We booked the corner room and were a little unsure if it might be a bit small but there was plenty of room. Good amount of light with opening windows was a plus. The bathroom was a standout and was as good as any at 5 star properties we have stayed at. Breakfast consisted of a choice between 3 set menus, all of which were good. Only 2 blocks from Gastown. Great front of house staff

We arrived at the St. Regis at 9:00 A.M. by taxi for a two night precruise stay. The hotel manager came out to the curb and greeted me by name (how did he know who I was?). He helped us get our luggage on a cart so that we could store it until our room was ready and give us time to go to Stanley Park. Our room was located on the top floor and small but very clean. The size of the room was not an issue because we would only use it for sleeping. The bathroom was very large with a double sink, a seat in a huge shower, comfy towels and robes. We really enjoyed the full breakfast menu which was included in the price of the room. The outstanding feature of the St. Regis was all the help the front desk gave us with questions that we had about different locations that we wanted to get to. Downtown Vancouver is a walking city and we were given marked maps by the St. Regis to help us so that we wouldn't get lost. The hotel is close to the city bus stops which helped when we wanted to get out to the University of British Columbia Museum of Anthropology. We have nothing negative to say about this hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor. We had no street noise.

We and 3 other couples chose the St. Regis to stay before our Alaska cruise because of the great Tripadvisor reviews. The hotel and its great staff did not disappoint us. It delivered with a great room, luxury appointments, great breakfast and tremendous staff. You will not go wrong with choosing the St. Regis for a wonderful stay in Vancouver.

Room Tip: I know some travelers complained about street noise but we stayed in a room on the third floor at th...

The St Regis is located on the edge of the main shopping area of Vancouver and extremely close the Vancouver City Centre station which is ideal for taking the trip to or from the airport. The lobby is small but perfectly formed and the staff, as mentioned in lots of reviews, are incredibly helpful and as the last night of a 2 week stay around the Pacific North West, probably the most helpful we came across. Parking is a bit tight (merely because of the local traffic) but we pulled up in the road down the side of the hotel and one of the reception staff brought the luggage trolley out to collect our bags so we could then return the car to the rental company. Incredibly helpful! And our bags were in our room ready for us when we returned after dropping the car off. Fantastic!

The room was slightly small (two double beds) but it was more than adequate and not as small as some. The bathroom only had a shower so if that's important to you, make sure you ask. The shower was great, they had a huge selection of tv channels (plus it had an on screen tv guide so you could look up what was on - incredibly useful as there are so many adverts on US and Canadian tv, you never know what's on!) and the free wifi was great and very useful.

Slight downpoints - only one small lift and breakfast was busy and service a bit slow. When it did come though it was good.

All in all, we loved the St Regis and would recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver.

The hotel room was clean and a good size. The staff was very helpful. We were able to walk everywhere from here, including the Vancouver skytrain station which took us directly to the airport. So convenient. One thing if you head east on Dunsmuir you can get into some iffy areas, I think it was east. But west and towards the waterfront is fine. The waterfront and the gaslight district is close by and I would recommend doing a hop on hop off tour to get a feel of the town. We even walked to Stanley Park to rent bikes one day. But that was about 1 1/2 miles -( 2k) away. The rooms have recently been remodeled. Loved Loved Loved the free international phone calls and probably the best/fastest free wifi we had throughout our 3 cities in Canada. We also got free water bottles every day and chocolates. Nice touch. The breakfast was very big. You could choose from omelets or yogurt and cereal or scrambled eggs. Will definitely stay here again.

Booked the St. Regis for a few days get-away. It is in a good downtown location allowing one to walk to the waterfront, Pacific Centre, and many good little restaurants. Totally European in feel -- one walks into a small, utilitarian lobby; breakfast is included; and there is only one small lift (the lift was never really an inconvenience, though). The rooms, however, are spacious. Full living room and king bedroom in our case. Closet is adequate and there is a computer-sized safe and mini-fridge. Ice is available on floors two and four without having to call staff. All in all, very accommodating. Turns out it is in a historic building -- see the plaque by the front entrance.

Best feature, without doubt, is the staff. They are very friendly and most helpful. One security feature is that the lift only works after being activated by a room key -- if the staff behind the desk sees you come in the front door they step out from the desk and activate the lift for you. Small touches like that go a long way toward stating that they care that guests have a good time. Each recommendation for a restaurant turned out to be a winner. There was a Taylor Swift concert that weekend and Canada Day was the Monday -- they gave us helpful tips on avoiding the crowds and the traffic.

The Steve Nash Health Club to which hotel guests have access is terrific. One has to go outside the hotel into an adjacent building for the health club and for parking but it is only a minor inconvenience. The health club has full aerobics equipment (two floors); great weight room space; and classes available. There is a Starbucks at the hotel entrance, a Tim Horton's across the street so coffee is not an issue. The hotel is connected to the Gotham Steakhouse and to their own "bar"; both of which are recommended.

All in all, a little boutique hotel which rivals the big luxury chains in service. The staff is excellent; they alone are enough to make certain this hotel is recommended.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor on the south west side. No street noise which was great. Only view, th...
